Thanksgiving is just around the corner and these easy-to-make Pinecone Turkey’s work up quickly. They’re the perfect craft to make with preschooler’s and elementary-aged children. You’ll only need a few basic craft supplies to make them. Once completed they would look super-cute decorating your holiday table. You could use them as placecard holders or just as table decorations.

If you’re doing this project with a group of children and want to save time you can have an adult paint all of the wood sundae spoons with brown acrylic craft paint. Then given the children all of the individual supplies and let them assemble their Thanksgiving Turkey. If you need to complete the turkey super-quickly you could substitute the craft glue with a hot glue gun. However, small children should NEVER use a hot glue gun, so I recommend that ONLY for adults.
Kid’s Thanksgiving Crafts Pinecone Turkey
Pinecones
Wood Sundae Spoons
Wiggle Eyes
Yellow and Red Craft Foam
Scissors
Brown Feathers
Quick-Drying Craft Glue
Brown Acrylic Craft Paint
Paint Brush, Water Dish, Paper Towels
Paint the wood sundae spoon with brown acrylic craft paint. Let dry for 30 minutes, flip it over and paint the opposite side. Let dry for 30-45 minutes or until no longer tacky.
Glue on the wiggle eyes. From yellow craft foam cut a small triangle to serve as the turkey’s beak. From red craft foam cut a “peanut shape” to serve as his wattle. Glue them onto the wooden spoon. Glue the painted wood sundae spoon onto the flat end of the pinecone. Let dry for 30-45 minutes.
At our local craft supply store we found genuine brown-colored bird feathers in a variety pack, meaning in different sizes. Anyway, you will want to pick up 6-12 feathers (depending on size) and glue them onto the back-end (the pointy end) of your pinecone. Let dry. That’s it, your new Thanksgiving Pinecone Turkey is done!

I love using pine cones to make different items. This would be so cute for Thanksgiving. My grandsons would enjoy creating these turkeys.
I remember making something like this with my Girl Scouts years ago. It would be fun to try it again with my grandson – maybe next year!
You have such fun crafts. Pine cones are plentiful, unlike the seashells. You can use these as place holders for names too.
This is a classic Thanksgiving craft. It’s a cute and easy project. Plus these turkeys would make a nice table decoration.

Oh what fun. I would love to use these as place settings for our dinner. So cute and fun to make and keep the kids occupied during these wet and rainy days.
I love this. The girls can make them for place setter at the table. They love decorating for any holdiay.
Neat craft! I am so glad I am seeing someone make something for Thanksgiving! It seems like everyone is rushing Christmas and forgetting such a loving Holiday. I love this.
