Having Fun at The Home Depot Kid’s DIY Workshops
For the past 16 months we’ve been taking our granddaughter to The Home Depot kid’s DIY Workshops and she absolutely loves them! If you have children or grandchildren, you really need to check them out.
* This post is NOT affiliated with The Home Depot in any way.
The workshops are FREE for children to attend and are held on the first Saturday of every month at your local The Home Depot store. You can use their store locator feature to find a location near you. You’ll want to pre-register your child for the class every month and you can do that directly on their website.
When the Princess went to her first workshop class they gave her a child-size The Home Depot apron which she wears to all of the classes. Once the child completes the project that day…they’re given a certificate of completion and a pin to add onto the front of their apron. As you can imagine, she has earned quite a few of them by now.
Over the past 16 months they have made all kinds of different projects such as: wooden birdhouses, bird feeders, classic children’s games, bug catching boxes, decorated boxes and treasure chests, etc. Really cool items that your child will enjoy making. Throughout my post you’ll a few of the projects that the Princess has made over the past year.
As a grandparent, I really believe that introducing your child to arts & crafts is a great way to educate them on various life skills that they’ll need. It helps them to express their creativity and its something fun for them to do! Way too often kids are sitting on their butts watching TV or playing video games. Just my 2 cents on that!
Let me repeat, these Kid’s DIY Workshops are FREE…they cost you nothing and are held on the first Saturday of every month. You can use the store locator (listed above) to find a location near you and to pre-register online.
Our Princess loves going to these workshops, so I wanted to take the time to inform other parents & grandparents about them. I highly recommend them to you!
