No Postage Necessary Movie DVD

Directed by Jeremy Culver (Radical Kindness) and starring George Blagden (Les Misérables) and Charleene Closshey (An Evergreen Christmas), No Postage Necessary is “stunning in its sincerity,” and “exudes a simplicity and quiet authenticity” (The Independent Critic). The film was shot in Tampa, Florida, the filmmakers’ hometown, on Kodak 35mm film and is a unique reflection of the Gulf Coast city and neighboring communities with an Americana vibe “as good as your granny’s apple pie” (Irish Film Critic).

Movie Synopsis: Wrong decisions seem apparent for Sam (Blagden), a convicted computer hacker, whose single, jaded and barred from using the Internet. Forced to crash on his brother’s couch, he makes ends meet by working at the local Twistee Treat and stealing mail while disguised as a postal worker. Then, a single pink envelope changes everything. Handwritten by a heartsick Josie (Closshey) to her late husband and fallen Marine, the tender missive awakens something in Sam. Desperate to be worthy of such love, he conspires to meet the beautiful, young war widow, longing to become a better man. As the two grow closer, she warms to the idea of a new chance at love, but not before Sam’s past comes knocking in the form of an FBI agent looking for missing bitcoins.

No Postage Necessary is directed and written by Jeremy Culver and was produced by Culver along with Closshey by Two Roads Picture Co. Additional cast members include Robbie A Kay (Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides), Raymond J. Barry (Just Married), Michael Beach (Aquaman), Stelio Savante (Blood In The Water) and Michelle Moreno (UnREAL).

My Thoughts: My husband and I enjoy sitting down in the evenings and watching a movie together after our kids go to bed. Its our time to enjoy a little time together after a long and stressful day. No Postage Necessary is a great movie for your “date night in” and will appeal to both men and women. It’s rated PG-13 with a run time of about 104 minutes.

This was the first time we’ve ever heard of these young actors and they did a really nice job in the movie. We both felt that the movie started out a little slow, but about 20 minutes into it…it really started to hold our attention. A lot of date night movies that couples enjoy can be too romantic & sappy, this is NOT that. While it’s a romantic couple movie, it has depth and interest. Nothing too sappy. There are parts that are dramatic, parts that are funny and parts that pull on your romantic heartstrings. A good mixture of all three.

Like my mom, I won’t tell you how the movie ends. Overall, my husband and I thought it was a good movie and give it a movie rating of 7 out of 10 stars. We both feel that its definitely a good movie for your movie night-in.
