SeaSnax Roasted Snack Sheets and Packs – Flavorful Seaweed Snacks

September 25, 2018 by A Bailey

SeaSnax Gourmet SnacksOne of the best things about doing reviews here at The Classy Chics is getting to try new things, often things I’m not familiar with. The product I want to tell you about today is one of those: SeaSnax, made from seaweed. Yes, seaweed! SeaSnax describes the organic Korean seaweed it uses as “porphyra, red algae or deep purple laver, also referred to as nori in Japan or kim in Korea.”

SeaSnax generously sent me a whole box full of different products to try, too many to do them justice in one post. So I’m going to concentrate on just one type of snack now and save the rest to share over the coming weeks. Today I’d like to feature SeaSnax Roasted Snack Sheets and Grab & Go Packs, with future posts covering Chomperz Crunchy Seaweed Chips, SeaVegi Seaweed Salad Mix, and SeaSnax Raw Seaweed Sheets.

SeaSnax Roasted Snack Sheets and Packs

SeaSnax Roasted Snack Sheets and Grab & Go Packs are available in several different flavors, including Original (lightly salted seaweed), Lime, Onion, Wasabi, and Chipotle. My favorite is the Lime, with its refreshing citrusy notes. As you might expect, the Wasabi and Chipotle versions provide a flavor kick, while the taste of the Onion and the Original is mainly herbaceous. Although these snacks may be eaten as-is, they can also be used as an ingredient in cooking. SeaSnax suggests using the Roasted Snacks “wrapped around rice or other cooked grains, in your favorite soup, salad, or sandwich, as a pizza topping – or just right out of the bag!”

After trying the different types of SeaSnax Roasted snacks, I have some advice. The packages are not resealable, so be prepared either to use the whole pack at one sitting or have a ziptop plastic bag handy to store the remainder for another day; SeaSnax recommends refrigerating or freezing leftovers. Also have a napkin or wet-wipe nearby, because the snacks are processed with olive oil, so they’ll leave your fingers feeling slightly greasy.

Like all SeaSnax products, the SeaSnax Roasted Snacks are Non-GMO Project Verified. They’re also organic, vegan, and naturally gluten free. They come in two different style packages, large sheets about the size of a piece of paper, and smaller sheets in “Grab & Go” packs, similar in shape to a deck of cards.

Using the “where to buy” section of the SeaSnax website, you’re sure to find a local retailer where you can purchase their products. Of course, SeaSnax products are available directly from the company at their website, and at Amazon. You can connect with the company over on Facebook too.
