The Top 3 Most Useful Baby Gates

August 24, 2018 by Jenelle

All parents know that the arrival of a child brings with it a lot of changes. The changes are not only in terms of the lack of sleep, etc, but parents even make a lot of changes in their house when there is a baby. Most would have a new nursery built to accommodate all the baby’s needs, and as they grow older and start to move around, parents are now hell-bent on making their homes safe for their child.

One of the most important things parents can invest into baby proof their homes is a baby gate. This is definitely a must. There will come a time when your baby will start moving, and they will want to explore the things around them. When they start crawling, and eventually, walking, you will want to keep them safe from areas in the home that are potentially dangerous, such as staircases, where they can fall, or in kitchens, where there are things that might hurt them.

Baby gates are the answer to this. If you do your research, you will find that there are different types so you will need to see which one to choose for your home. You can choose the hardware-mounted baby gates or a pressure mounted baby gate instead. To make it easier for you, here are the top three most useful baby gates that you can invest in.

KidSafe Baby Gate for the Home

1. KinCo Safeway – if your goal is to keep babies away from stairs, you can use this product. It’s great for stairs with banisters and it can be customized to fit almost any banister in the house. Aside from that, it also has a directional stop that will not swing past the stairs, making it extra safe for your child.

2. Summer Infant Deco Extra Tall Walk-Thru – what’s great about this baby gate is that it is sturdy, so even if you have an older, more rambunctious child, you’ll know that this gate can withstand the wear and tear. Asa primary caregiver, you will find yourself busy most of the time in taking care of a child, what more if you have more than one? There may be times that you might even forget to close the baby gate. You will not need to consider that a problem with this baby gate because it closes automatically, thereby securing your child’s safety.

3. Munchkin Wide Spaces Expanding Baby Gate – if you are looking for something that is useful but cheaper than others, this is the best bet. It can be a gate for an area as narrow as 26 inches, but it can expand up to 65 inches for doorways or staircases that are extra wide. You will need to install a mount in the door or wall where you will place the gate, but it is easy to remove when you will no longer have to use the gate because your child is already big enough and sturdy enough to walk up and down staircases or they are no longer at a risk of falling.

I wish you had posted this article several months ago when I was looking for a gate to keep my granddaughter safer around my house. It would have been very useful.

We bought a gate to keep our grandson away from the stairs 3 years ago and I am glad we did. I wish I had this post to read when I was searching for the right one because there are so many to choose from.

I think I am going to pick up the Summer Infant walk through gate. We have a chihuahua and I could use the gate on our porch and give her a little freedom without a leash. She is a runner and there are thousands of acres of forests around us.

I like the idea of a gate that automatically closes. That’s something older gates didn’t have.

I think baby gates are so important to have in a home and also in the homes where your little ones visit. We use them for our pets too. This looks like a nice one and one we could sure use.
