Coastal Cottage Small Bathroom Storage Solutions

August 16, 2018 by Shelly

Several years ago we opted to purchase an older home and even though it’s large on square footage space, it lacks a LOT in storage space. What makes things even is worse is that 2 out of 3 of our bathrooms are about the size of a large walk-in closet. Yes, those 2 bathrooms are pretty small.

Zenna Home Coastal Cottage Collection White Wall Cabinet

A few weeks ago I decided to remodel and update the one bathroom which is officially a 3/4 bathroom with a toilet, pedestal sink and a walk-in shower. There were no cabinets or under-the-sink vanity, so I was always running to the linen closet or to one of our other bathrooms to retrieve things.

After giving the bathroom a good overall cleaning, I got busy solving some of my storage solutions. I needed a place to store my bath, body and beauty items, a place to store our toilet paper rolls and I needed a new (but compact) medicine cabinet. By updating all of those things, I could get the storage space that I desperately needed.

I went over to Amazon and purchased the Zenna Home Cottage Collection White Wall Cabinet which is perfect for a small bathroom. It measures 19.19″ wide by 25.63″ high by 5.75″ deep. It has two doors that open up to reveal a big storage compartment inside. As you can see from my photo…you can store large cans of hairspray, shower gels, bubble bath, skincare bottles, etc. inside it. I can fit quite a bit in there which makes me happy!

From the Flea Market last weekend I purchased a slender wooden table with 2 shelves and painted it white. It’s about 2 foot tall. I picked up a white wicker basket at a local store and now all of my cosmetics sit inside the basket and on the stand. As you can see, I don’t have “sink space” to set my items on.

I have this right beside the pedestal sink, so I can stand there and put my make-up on. On the bottom shelf I can store additional bottles of items that we need to grab quickly. I’m so glad that I was able to find such a tall, but slender wooden table…just for this purpose.

I needed something to store all of our extra toilet paper rolls in and I found the Free Standing White Toilet Paper Bathroom Cabinet Holder over on Amazon. It’s a tall and slender cabinet that fits perfectly between our toilet and the wall (sits in a corner). I’m able to store our extra toilet paper in the cabinet and one box of facial tissues in the top. Perfect solution for any size bathroom!

For the medicine cabinet I went with something simple and clean. I selected a White Single Door Medicine Cabinet with a door mounted mirror. Inside the cabinet are 2 shelves where I can store my nail polishes, nail polish remover, tooth brushing essentials, a few medications, etc. I really like the “clean” look to the cabinet and it goes with everything else perfectly!

As you can see…I went with white colored storage options since I decorate in the Coastal Cottage style. I accented all of the items with various beach items, seashells, etc. to pull my entire decor theme together. I now have some new  places to store the bathroom necessities that we need.
