July 19, 2018 by Shelly

Mom’s Place Gluten-Free FoodsUntil about a decade ago, the other ninety-nine percent of Americans rarely seemed to give gluten much thought. Now, Americans are becoming more aware about what is going into the foods that we consume everyday… and finding themselves surprised to learn that foods such as meats and seasons also contain gluten. Introducing Mom’s Place Gluten Free your one stop shop for all your gluten free grocery shopping needs!

For the bread lover, Mom’s Place offers classic favorites such as soft pretzels, bagels, italian bread sticks, bread bowls, and so much more! Recently I was sent several products to try out for all of you. Here are the items that I received along with some brief information about each one.

Mom’s Place Gluten-Free Foods - Baking Mixes

Mom’s Place Gluten-Free Chocolate Chip Cookies – This cookie mix makes super-soft, gluten-free cookies that will stay soft for a few days in a sealed container. The only ingredients you need to add are: softened butter and large eggs. The package will make approximately 48 cookies.

Mom’s Place Gluten-Free Carrot Cake – This baking mix will make a moist & decadent cake that will melt in your mouth. Use the mix to make a cake, cupcakes or muffins. The only ingredients you need to add are: large eggs, vegetable oil, shredded carrots and crushed pineapple. To make the included frosting you’ll need to add: cream cheese, softened butter and heavy cream.

Mom’s Place Gluten-Free Foods - Soup Mixes

Broccoli Cheese Soup – This mix makes the perfect soup – warm, creamy and delicious. You’ll need to add the butter, milk, water, shredded cheddar cheese and cooked broccoli.

Cream of Tomato Soup – This mix makes the perfect soup, warm and creamy. You’ll need to add the tomato sauce, water and milk. Great soup to serve alongside your favorite grilled cheese sandwich.

Mom’s Place Gluten-Free Foods - Dip & Soup Mixes

Fiesta Chili Lime Dip – You can use this mix to season crockpot chicken, nacho’s, chicken burritos or use as a dip for snacking. To use as a dip, you’ll need to add the sour cream. Then serve with your favorite chips.

Onion Soup Mix – This is a very versatile mix! Use it to season meats, to make a soup or use it to make a dip. You’ll need to add the sour cream. What’s really nice about using this to make your dip…you can use a little or a lot. I found that adding 3-4 teaspoons to a small container of sour cream made for the perfect chip dip!

Gluten-Free Chocolate Chip Cookies

Two weeks ago when my granddaughter stayed overnight we got busy making the Mom’s Place Gluten-Free Chocolate Chip Cookies. We followed the directions on the package and within 70 minutes we had all of the cookies baked and cooling. They smelled so good while baking in the oven and were even better once we had the opportunity to eat them! They’re delicious fresh out of the oven or the next day when we dunked them into milk. YUMMY!

Gluten-Free Onion Chip Dip

Last weekend we had a few guests over to our home for a backyard barbecue and pool party. I decided to use the Mom’s Place Gluten-Free Onion Soup Mix to make some chip dip. All I added was a few teaspoons of the mix into some sour cream and then refrigerated for 4 hours to allow the flavors to infuse. Oh my gosh, that dip was delicious and by the end of the day, it was entirely gone.

Fiesta Chili Lime Tuna Pasta Salad

For that same family get-together I wanted to mix up a cold pasta salad so I decided to follow my favorite cold tuna pasta salad recipe and then added in 2 1/2 teaspoons of the Mom’s Place Gluten-Free Fiesta Chili Lime Dip mix into the bowl. I stirred everything together and refrigerated for 4 hours. That dip mix gave our cold pasta salad a nice little kick…not spicy, but a flavorful little kick. A nice change from the same old, same old.

Over the next few weeks I look forward to using everything that the company sent me to review. So far, everything that we’ve tried has been delicious! I really love that having these mixes on-hand make my food preparation easy and when my mom is at our home, she can stay within her gluten-free diet.

It is always nice to be able to take short cuts to prepare items and have them taste delicious. I may try moms place mixes.

I would love so much of this! I like the looks and sound of the broccoli cheese soup yum! I am constantly amazed at all the new choices for gluten free. Years ago gluten free meant either heavy and bland or hard and bland- these all look great.
