Hawaiian Mango Bread Recipe

When it comes to homemade breads, a good fruity sweet bread is always at the top of my list. This Hawaiian Mango Bread Recipe utilizes fresh mangoes which happen to be in-season right now. I just saw them on sale at our local grocery store and going to pick up a few of them next week. The bread looks delicious and I’m going to try making it.

Hawaiian Mango Bread Recipe

1/4 cup Butter
3/4 cup Granulated Sugar
2 Medium Ripe Mangos, Pureed
1 Large Egg, Beaten
1 Tsp. Pure Vanilla Extract
2 Tbsp. Lime Juice
1 1/2 cups All Purpose Flour
1 1/2 Tsp. Baking Powder
1/2 Tsp. Baking Soda
1/2 Tsp. Ground Cinnamon
1 cup Walnuts, Chopped

To prepare the batter: In a large mixing bowl cream the butter and sugar. Add the mango, egg, vanilla, and lime juice. In a separate large bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda and cinnamon. Add the mango mixture to the flour mixture stirring until the dry ingredients are just moistened. Stir in the walnuts.

To bake the mango bread: Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Coat a 9x5x3 inch non stick pan with non stick cooking spray. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan. Bake for 40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center, comes out clean. Cool in the pan 10 minutes before removing from the loaf pan. Allow to cool for 1 hour on a rack before serving.

I think I would enjoy this recipe. The photo appears to show pieces of mango as well as the puree.

We buy mangos frequently so this would be a good way to use them. This would make a nice bread for breakfast.

Now this is different. I think I would like the lime and mango flavor together.

This looks like it would be so sweet and flavorful. Mangos really aren’t available here much I do not know why. I see them in jars more than fresh. This would be a very different and tasty recipe to try.

  5. I’ve never had a bread made with mangoes. I don’t usually even buy them since I don’t know how to use them.

  6. I love Hawaiian foods and this bread sounds amazing and so healthy. To be honest I can’t remember the last time I had homemade bread and I would love to try this recipe.
