How many of you have visited Disney World in Florida or Disneyland in California? The first time I visited Disney World was when I was in my early 20’s, so that would be about 30 years ago. When was in my late 20’s I had the opportunity to visit Disneyland, so I’ve had the pleasure of visiting them both! With that said, I do prefer Disney World!
A few months ago my husband had to go to Orlando on business, so I decided to go along. During our 5 days there, we had one day where we could do whatever we wanted to do. At the top of my husband’s list…a visit to Disney World. Since we were staying nearby, it was easy to plan a quick visit. For those planning a similar trip, booking accommodations through their Orlando area hotels can make your Disney World experience even more convenient and enjoyable, especially if you’re traveling with family.
On the day that we visited they were extremely crowded since it was during the weekend. I heard that its best to try to visit during the less-busier weekdays. We did have to stand in long lines, but it was worth it to us in the end.
After we got through the admission gate…we opted to lock up our personal belongings in secure lockers. I didn’t want to take the chance that I would lose something, so we opted to do that. Hence, why you won’t see a lot of photographs in this post. Hubby opted to secure his smartphone too, he didn’t want to lose it or get it wet during any water rides.
We were there for about 5 hours which was enough time to experience some of the rides and shows that Disney has to offer. With that said, I do recommend that you go as soon as they open and try to stay until closing time. There are a ton of things to see and do and for the price, you’ll want to try to experience as many of them that you can.
What was really cute was that as we walked around the park we would run into oodles of different families who had their kids along with them. Often times we saw little boys and little girls dressed up as their favorite Disney characters. When those same kids ran into their favorite “real life” Disney character they were squealing with joy and excitement. Oh my gosh, it was really cute to see!
Now that our youngest grandchild is getting older, we’re going to plan a family trip down to Disney World and take both of our grandchildren along with us. We wanted to do it before, but waited because we want them BOTH to be old enough to remember it.
For those of you who have visited one of the Disney parks…what was your favorite thing to see or do while you were there? Do you have a favorite character? Which of the Disney parks do you prefer visiting? Tell me about it in the blog’s comment form below!

I have never been to any of the Disney parks. When my grandchildren are older I might take them to Disney World.
I have nver been to any of the Disney parks. We went by this one I think when we went to Florida about 20 years ago and for us the admission was crazy high. It was just the two of us, and we would have loved to see it but didnt go in. It always looks amazing o see pictures of it.
I am waiting for my grandson to get a little older so I can take him to DisneyWorld. I don’t want to rush time but I can’t wait!
