Treating Seasonal Allergies with Children’s Claritin

How many of you have children who suffer with seasonal allergies or with allergies year-round? My almost 3 year old son suffers with them year-round and my 9 year old daughter suffers with them seasonally. When their allergies act up, they have to deal with sneezing, runny noses, watery eyes, dry & itchy throats, etc. I feel terrible for my children when their allergies kick into high gear.

Treating Seasonal Allergies with Children's Claritin

For the past few weeks I’ve been using the Children’s Claritin Allergy Loratadine Oral Solution Antihistamine (liquid medication) with my 3 year old son. It’s a non-drowsy medication with 24 hour relief of: sneezing, runny nose, itchy-watery eyes and itchy throat or nose.

This formula is made specifically for indoor & outdoor allergies comes dye-free. We’ve been using the grape flavor which is the flavor that he prefers to take. For children ages 2 to under 6 years of age, you use the included dosing cup and give them 1 teaspoon daily. That’s it, only one teaspoon! It can also be given to older children…adults & children 6 years and over can take 2 teaspoonfuls daily.

For my 9 year old daughter, I’ve been using the Children’s Claritin Chewables Loratadine Antihistamine in the BubbleGum flavor. It’s for indoor & outdoor allergies, a non-drowsy formula that provides 24 hour relief of sneezing, runny nose, itchy – watery eyes and itchy throat or nose. It’s made for children 2 years of age and older.

Children ages 2 years to under 6 years of age get 1 chewable tablet daily. Children ages 6 years and older get 2 chewable tablets daily. If your child is under the age of 2 years, you’ll want to talk to your doctor before using this product.

Over the past few weeks the Children’s Claritin products have been doing a great job at relieving my children’s seasonal allergies. I like that I have a liquid formula to use with my son and a chewable tablet to use with my daughter. As a parent, I appreciate that they are non-drowsy formulas and that I only have to give the medication to my children once a day, not repeated, multiple doses.
