Craft Project DIY Seashell Trinket Dish and Soap Dish

May 26, 2018 by Shelly

Craft Project DIY Seashell Trinket Dish and Soap DishI love the coastal life and I love everything about it. For me, I love sitting on the beach watching the waves roll in, the sun hitting my face and there is nothing like breathing in the fresh sea air. If I could spend all of my time on the beach, I certainly would!

One of the things I enjoy doing while at the beach is collecting seashells. I have over a dozen boxes full of seashells and pieces of driftwood that I’ve collected over the years. It’s fun coming up with new ways to use the shells to decorate my home and today, I’ve got a really cool craft project to share with you!

If you enjoy painting on seashells or crafting with seashells…you’ll find over 70+ seashell craft projects right here on the Two Classy Chics blog! We will be sharing more seashell craft projects in the future too!

1 Large Clam Shell
1 Glass Votive Holder
E-6000 Adhesive Glue
6mm Faux Pearl

Wash and thoroughly dry your large clam shell. My seashell measures about 6″ wide at its widest part.

Using the E-6000 Adhesive, run the glue (adhesive) around the edge of the clear glass votive holder. This will serve as the pedestal for your trinket and soap dish. I was able to pick one up at the local Dollar Store for only a buck! Once you have the adhesive on, gently push your large seashell on top. You want to be careful to NOT use too much glue, as you don’t want it oozing out or running down.

E-6000 is a strong, all-purpose adhesive. I highly recommend it for doing project like this. You want a permanent adhesion. Using a “pea-sized” amount of adhesive, add your faux pearl on the top (see photo for the placement). Let this dry overnight, so that you get a strong bond and until it’s thoroughly dry.

You can now use your new DIY Seashell Trinket Dish to hold jewelry by the sink, on your nightstand or use it as a soap dish in your bathroom. Super-easy to make and a great way to use those large clam shells that you collected from the beach!

This is a simple DIY craft which kids would enjoy making for themselves or as a gift.

Fun to make and handy to have a convenient place to for rings and jewelry. I do appreciate how you come up with these craft ideas so that they can be done on a budget. My granddaughter loves doing crafts and it is nice to have ideas that can be done easily and inexpensively.

Thanks Heather. We try to keep our crafts simple and on the frugal side. I don’t understand these people who waste thousands of dollars making crafts. Sigh.
