When it comes to snacking, nothing beats chewy and delicious homemade cookies! The following recipe is one of my family’s favorite cookie recipes. You can use this standard recipe and switch out the white chocolate chips for peanut butter chips, semi-sweet chocolate chips, M&M’s candies or your favorite chopped nut. I think the addition of the sour cream in this recipe is what makes these cookies do dang gone good!
White Chocolate Chip Cookies Recipe
1 cup vegetable shortening
1 cup butter, softened
2 cups brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
4 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup sour cream
1 1/4 cups white chocolate chips
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Mix all ingredients together in the order that they are given in the recipe. Drop by the teaspoonful onto an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes or until done. Remove from the oven and place on a cooling rack to cool. Once done, store them in an airtight container.
Note: You can easily freeze these cookies for later use. Let them fully cool and then package in freezer bags or freezer storage containers. Lable and freeze. Mine will keep for up to 3 months with no problems at all. When you’re ready to enjoy them…thaw at room temperature and then enjoy! I enjoy dunking them in my morning coffee or hot cocoa. YUMMY GOOD!

This looks like a delicious variation on the regular chocolate chip cookie. You are right that the sour cream probably makes the difference.
