Fermentation Revolution 70 Easy, Healthy Recipes

April 25, 2018 by Carol

Fermentation is one of the hottest kitchen trends of the past two years, and for good reason – it allows us to transform the ordinary into the extraordinary. But more than that, fermented foods have enhanced nutritional value, aid in digestion and help regulate our immune systems. Fermenting doesn’t have to be complicated or difficult or overwhelming. You don’t have to disinfect your entire kitchen or worry about weird things growing in your pantry.

Fermentation Revolution Cookbook Pickled Cucumbers

My daughter Shelly plants a garden every year and I can always count on her to give me her extra fruit and vegetables. I have never tried fermenting food before and now that I have this new cookbook, I’ll be giving it a try this summer during gardening season. I’m really looking forward to trying to make my own fermented sauerkraut and the classic kimchi (spicy Korean sauerkraut).  Once Shelly is doing better and on her feet, we’re going to try to make the Fermented Banana Bread on page 126 which looks easy to make!

If you ever wanted to try to make your own foods the good, old-fashioned way by fermentation, I think you’ll really enjoy this recipe cookbook. Shelly says that its a great book for those of you who enjoy camping as you can make up a lot of the foods ahead of time and then take them with you. I personally think its a great book for those of you who enjoy the classic homesteading way of life.
