Easy Pan-Fried Lemon Pepper Tilapia Recipe

Four years ago we made a conscious effort to incorporate more fish into our diets for its health benefits. At the time…we weren’t huge fish eaters but have now grown to love it. One of the most affordable and readily available fish at the grocery store happens to be Tilapia, so I’m always looking for new ways to prepare it.

Last week my mom spent a few days with us, so we decided to try out her recipe which is below. It’s really easy-to-prepare and entirely made on the stove-top.

Easy Pan-Fried Lemon Pepper Tilapia Recipe

4 Tilapia Fillets
2 tsp. lemon pepper seasoning
1 tsp. Italian seasoning
2 tbsp. butter, divided (not margarine)
2 tbsp. olive oil, divided
1 whole lemon, cut into slices

Season the fish fillets with the lemon pepper and Italian seasonings, set aside.

In a large skillet, combine together 1/2 of the butter and half of the olive oil over medium heat. Once it is hot…add-in the seasoned Tilapia fillets. Squeeze 2-3 slices of lemon over the fillets (the lemon juice). Simmer on medium heat for 4-5 minutes or until golden brown.

Flip the fillets over. Add in the additional olive oil and butter. Squeeze the remaining lemon slices on top (the lemon juice) and simmer until golden brown. Remove from heat and serve immediately.

I love fish and if I could I hinesly would eat it every single day. Hubby isnt a fish fan, but will have it now and again. like the seasoning on this and also that it is pan fried. I bake a whole lot of mie but tilapia is so mild, it needs a little nudge. The lemon pepper would be a great addition.
