Peter’s Garden Tea, A Limited Edition from The Republic of Tea
Have you seen the Peter Rabbit movie? Although I have yet to see the movie, I have been drinking the tea. What? Peter Rabbit tea? Yes! In conjunction with the new movie, The Republic of Tea is offering a special limited edition tea, Peter’s Garden Tea.

The inspiration for Peter’s Garden Tea is the mischievous Peter Rabbit and the fresh goodies he purloins from Mr. McGregor’s garden. This tasty tea is a full-flavored caffeine-free herbal blend. The simple ingredients (ginger, orange bergamot mint, lemon thyme, anise hyssop, anise seeds, and blackberry leaves) combine to produce a light but complex flavor, perfect for any time of day. I’ve tried it both hot and cold, but my favorite way to enjoy it is at room temperature. It’s refreshing and surprisingly flavorful for herbal tea.
Peter’s Garden Tea comes in a pretty canister containing 36 of The Republic of Tea’s signature round, unbleached tea bags. The keepsake canister features Peter Rabbit himself, looking very sporty in a denim jacket. Any fan of the original Beatrix Potter books or the new Peter Rabbit movie would love this canister, let alone the tea it holds!
If you’re interested in trying Peter’s Garden Tea for yourself, you’d better hurry, since it’s a limited edition. Find it at your local Cost Plus World Market or the Republic of Tea’s website. The container of 36 tea bags retails for $12.25.
According to The Republic of Tea, their mission is “to emphasize a Sip by Sip Rather Than Gulp by Gulp lifestyle.” To that end, they’ve been producing high-quality teas since 1992. Their product selection includes just about any type of tea you can think of, from black teas to decaffeinated, herbal, rooibos, green, oolong, and white teas, loose or in tea bags. Their flavored teas cover a broad spectrum, too, including spicy, fruity, and flowery flavors. They also have specially designed iced tea blends. Going beyond teas, The Republic of Tea offers a wide range of accessories they call “sipware,” such as beautiful mugs, teapots, kettles, infusers, and more. For a tea-lover like me, browsing The Republic of Tea’s website is like being the proverbial kid in a candy shop.
The Republic of Tea describes itself as “A socially and environmentally responsible business.” They follow through on that promise on many levels, starting with support for the people who grow and harvest the tea, as well as the communities and environments where those people live. Furthermore, their manufacturing procedures and packaging employ sustainable practices and materials wherever possible. And in keeping with their philosophy of giving back, since its inception, The Republic of Tea has donated over $3 million to nonprofit organizations in its own community and elsewhere in the United States.
