Kid’s Crafts – Easy Homemade Happy Easter Greeting Cards

March 19, 2018 by Shelly

My granddaughter is almost 9 years old and twice a month we get together for arts & crafts play dates. We will sit down to work on painting projects, needle crafts, scrapbooking, wood crafts, and everything in between. These regular play dates are a great way to teach her new educational skills and helps her to express her creativity. As an added bonus, it’s fun bonding time for the two of us!

First, let me tell you about our sponsor for this feature – Yoobi. The company is based on a bright yet simple idea: colorful, vibrant supplies for school, home or office that give to classrooms in need. For every Yoobi item purchased, Yoobi contributes a Yoobi item to a classroom in need, right here in the U.S.! So while we’re in the spirit of giving thanks – now is the time to support a great brand that is dedicated to giving back! You can connect with the company on Facebook to learn more!

The Princess wanted to work on some homemade Happy Easter greeting cards for her Mom, Dad, her Teacher at school and for 2 of her friends. Since I’m a crafter, I always have extra craft supplies on-hand and our sponsor Yoobi sent us a few goodies too. The supplies listed below are for one greeting card. You can basically use whatever supplies you have on hand and I recommend that you let the kids come up with their own designs! Way too often I see these Pinterest moms coming up with designs that are too difficult and technical that a small child couldn’t possibly make them. Let your kids be creative all on their own!!!

My granddaughter kept it pretty simple. Used used a peach colored pre-made blank greeting card and then decorated the outside and inside. She used stickers for her wording and for the grass. She used the Yoobi Easter stamps and ink pads to make her Easter Eggs and outlined each of the eggs with a marker. She then added the “bling” rhinestones above. To finish things off, she used Washi Tape to frame out her word greeting of “Coloring Eggs”.

On the inside of the card she wrote her greeting to her Daddy and added an Easter Egg cardstock sticker. She calls the design that I’m featuring in this post the “Easter Egg Hunt”. She made several cards in just one afternoon and I wanted to proudly show you one that she made! Great job for an 8 1/2 year old girl!

I think that every parent loves cards made by their children or grandchildren. These are good tips.

I adore handmade cards from kids. I still have every single one my nieces and nephews made when they were little. They dont know it, but when they have their own family and are settled in, they will get them back for their own kids to admire. I love the ones your granddaughter did, it is so sweet!

I love homemade cards. I saved quite a few that my girls made their Dad and me while they were growing up. Occasionally I’ll come across them and they still bring a smile to my face.
