Every month I like to get together with my almost 9 year old granddaughter for “crafting dates” with Nanny. If you’ve been reading this blog, you will have read over 100+ arts and crafts projects that we’ve completed together. As soon as I saw this kit…I knew it was perfect for our next crafting date together.
For this review feature we received a complimentary DIY “Winter” Soap Subscription Box from D.I.Y. Collectives. Inside our box we had an instruction sheet, soap molds, melt & pour soap base, essential oils, a loofah sponge, activated charcoal and other supplies to make two complete bars of moisturizing homemade soap.
What’s really cool about this project is that we made the soap entirely by melting the soap base in my microwave using the included glass mason jar. They sent along 2 bottles of essential oil to fragrance our soaps…we chose to use the peppermint which smells refreshing and clean. The instructions were really easy to follow and in less than 20 minutes we had 2 soap bars poured into the molds and firming up. We left them cure for a few days before we popped them out and used them.
What a really cool kit! My granddaughter has been talking about her soap making skills for the past 2 weeks! She’s been using one bar and I’ve been using the other. Super moisturizing to the skin and they smell absolutely wonderful.
Above you can see the photograph of the two homemade soap bars that we made by using the supplies in the kit that we received. Fantastic!!!
