5 Reasons to Consider Home Energy Audit Services

November 12, 2017 by Sam H.

It is important to know what is going on in your home as far as energy consumption is concerned. Having an energy-efficient home is not only friendly to your bank account but also the environment. In the past, many homeowners have opted for energy audit services to help them keep track of and understand their energy needs.

During an energy audit, the specialist evaluates the various energy systems within your home with the aim of finding more affordable energy saving solutions for your home. As they inspect your home, the specialist will point out certain aspects including the appliances that consume the most energy in your home. It isn’t just about using less electricity. Sometimes, you failed to consider the need for insulation in your roof. Calling for and addressing issues pertaining to energy audits come with multiple benefits.

Saves you money

Of course, this is the first advantage. By knowing the systems that consume most energy in your home, you can modify their usage to save on electricity bills. Through an energy audit, you can know about the energy wastage in your home. You can go ahead and seal such loopholes to ensure your home is energy-efficient. You might also qualify for rebates. Your energy specialist will definitely provide more information on that.

Ensures environment safety

Making certain energy changes after an energy audit isn’t just about saving your coins and notes. Some of those alterations are great for the environment. By handling your part on reduction of your household’s energy footprint, you will be playing a substantial role in reducing greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. It is something to feel awesome about because such practices are good for the environment and the future as well.

Guards against potential danger

An energy audit can help prevent major electrical dangers in your home. After seeking the services of an electrician in Caloundra on the Sunshine Coast, you might realize that the air conditioning system is not well ventilated. Taking prompt actions against such can help to avert potential structural damage to your home. After an energy audit, you might also realize other potential sources of damage that you might have overlooked.

Improve your home’s value

By having a more energy-efficient system, you can improve the overall value of your home. In the past, it has been said that for every dollar you save on energy, you improve the value of your home by $20. Even if you choose to rent your home later, you will be passing efficient energy costs to your tenants.

Gain insight from the pros

Being a homeowner comes with responsibilities. You need to understand and be able to explain what is going on within your boundaries. An energy audit helps you understand where and how your energy bills are going. Based on the results of the assessment, the electrician performing the audit should be able to provide detrained information. You can also take advantage of such opportunities to make certain inquiries you have always wanted to make.

We also had one done by our power company. Here. it is a free service, and well worth what they told us. They even used thermal imaging sine it was done in the cooler months. It was amazing how much we were losing through windows. We hope to replace the windows one day.

We had an energy audit by our electrical company. It was very informative. It cost $75 but when we turned in the bills for the improvements, they refunded the first $75. We were not aware of many things they found.
