Mouse and Mole at Christmas Time DVD
Looking for a new children’s holiday movie to watch this year? If so, we think you’re going to love Mouse and Mole at Christmas Time which was just released on DVD in September.
* Complimentary DVD Received for Review.
Synopsis: Mouse and Mole live together and are best friends. Mouse is practical and cheerful while Mole always gets himself into trouble and needs looking after. After delivering invitations to their friends for their holiday party, Mouse makes a “snow-mole” for Mole. Mole dreams that his new snow-mole comes to life and takes him to a land where his every wish is granted! Will Mole learn to be careful what he wishes for? Approximate run-time of 35 minutes in length. In addition to the title story, the DVD includes ten bonus Mouse and Mole animated tales which are wise, witty, and filled with timeless charm.
This beautifully animated film, reminiscent of classics like Wind in The Willows, is part of the limited series based on the beloved children’s books written by Joyce Dunbar and illustrated by James Mayhew that were first published in 1993. Featuring the voices of the late Richard Briers (Kenneth Branagh’s Hamlet), Imelda Staunton (Maleficent, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part I) and award-winning writer/actor Alan Bennett (The Madness of King George III).
My Thoughts: I have two children, a girl who’s 8 years old and a little boy who’s 2 years old. They enjoy sitting down with mom & dad for family movie night and watching animated movies and shows. For all four us, we had never heard of Mouse and Mole until we received this children’s DVD for the review.
In addition to the original feature, there are 10 bonus stories which include:
Preposterous Puddle, Daffodil, Least Expecting, Picnic, Whiskers, Half a Banana, Catch a Falling Leaf, Spectacles, A Frisky Fluttery Ghost and The Secret of Happiness.
The stories contained on this children’s DVD are adorable. It’s great quality entertainment for young kids. My daughter enjoyed watching them, but my son was more into them than her. I’m thinking that an 8 year old will enjoy them, but it’s geared more toward’s the younger crowd. Perfect for toddlers and preschoolers for sure!
