Heluva Good! Recipes for Halloween

October 24, 2017 by Jenelle

Hosting a Halloween party this year? Looking to make some unique Halloween recipes for the family to enjoy? If you answered YES to either of those questions, you’re going to love our guest post today that’s courtesy of Heluva Good!

Spooky Crudité Recipe

CCC Spooky Crudité Recipe

You’ll need…
Heluva Good! Buttermilk Ranch Dip (or your favorite flavored sour cream dip)
Celery witch fingers (recipe below)
Carrot witch fingers (recipe below)
Cauliflower brains (recipe below)

Celery witch fingers
Celery sticks
Tomato paste
Blanched salted whole almonds or slivered almonds

Cut celery sticks to 5” and cut skinnier end at an angle. Squeeze just enough tomato paste on top of the cut end and place an almond on top.

Carrot witch fingers
Carrot sticks
Cream cheese
Slivered almonds

Peel and cut carrot sticks to 5” and cut skinnier end at an angle. Spread a tiny bit of cream cheese on top of the cut end and place a piece of slivered almond.

Cauliflower brains
Cauliflower florets
Tomato paste

Separate cauliflower florets so each is about 2” wide. Score the top across the middle and carve a thin line either side around it to make it look like a brain. Rub it with tomato paste to make them look spooky.

Assembly
Put the Heluva Good dip of your choice in a hollow sugar pumpkin shell (or any Halloweeny bowl), and arrange witch fingers and brains in the most spooky way. Trick or (healthy and delicious) treat!

Muffuluvya Sandwich Recipe

Muffuluvya Sandwich Recipe

3/4 cup pitted mixed oil-packed olives
1/2 cup dried dates chopped
1/4 cup chopped roasted red peppers
2 tablespoons parsley leaves
½ Cup Heluva Good! Jalapeno Cheddar Dip
1 large muffuletta-style ciabatta, focaccia or any crusty roll
1/3 pound thinly sliced sweet soppressata
1/3 pound thinly sliced mortadella
1/3 pound thinly sliced capicola
1/3 pound thinly sliced Heluva Good! provolone cheese

Combine olives, dates, peppers, and parsley in the bowl of a food processor. Pulse to chop until no pieces larger than 1/2-inch remain. Transfer to a bowl. Mix with Heluva Good! Jalapeno Cheddar Dip.

Split muffuletta roll in half and spread each cut surface generously with olive salad. Layer half of soppressata on bottom half of bun, followed by half of mortadella, half of capicola, and half of Heluva Good! provolone. Repeat layers with remaining meat and cheese. Close sandwiches and press down gently to compress. For best flavor, wrap tightly in paper or plastic and let rest for 1 hour before serving. Cut into triangular wedges to serve.

I think these are great ideas. The kids would love to make these themselves. I bet they will eat more of them if they help assemble them.
