The Edgy Veg Cookbook by Candice Hutchings

Title: The Edgy Veg: 138 Carnivore-Approved Vegan Recipes
Author: Candice Hutchings
Publisher: Robert Rose
ISBN: 978-0-7788-0581-6

Moving away from the ubiquitous spiralized zucchini noodles of Instagram and away from boring salads and smoothies, The Edgy Veg features 138 recipes that satisfy the need for comfort food, fast food favorites, food-nerd obsessions and insatiable childhood and adult cravings.

The book features all new recipes (not seen on the blog or on their YouTube channel) along with a selection of hand-picked fan favorites. Included are brunch staples such as the incredibly indulgent Veggs Benedict, munchies, soups, sides and sandwiches, cocktails including Ginger Kombucha Mimosa, sweet treats like Candice’s Thank You Very Matcha Ice Cream, and more mains that you can count.

Carol’s Thoughts: A few years ago I was diagnosed with a lot of gasto-intestinal problems and had to make some dietary changes. While I admit, I’m not vegan, but I have cut down dramatically the amount of animal-based products that I eat. I’m trying to eat healthier and I’m trying to watch my portion control.

The Edgy Veg Cookbook is a hardcover book that contains 138 easy-to-make recipes and most of them contain ingredients that I can readily obtain at my local supermarket. The book is nicely broken down into chapters, so that you can easily find specific recipes and I like how the author has included her tips along the way. There is a small section in the front of the book that gives you information on how to use the book if your new to Vegetarian eating. Each recipe includes standard and metric measurements.

The holidays are just around the corner and I’ll be trying out several of the recipes when my Vegan sister comes to stay with me during the Thanksgiving holiday. Now I’ll know exactly what to prepare for the two of us to enjoy. This is a really nice cookbook that can be enjoyed by everyone, vegan or not!

This fabulous cookbook is available through Robert Rose books, along with many others that I think you would enjoy.
