Bleu Paw Pet Waste Scooper for Cleaner Cleanup

We have two great dogs, Otis and Maverick, and we love them like crazy. What I don’t love is cleaning up after them. If you have dogs, you know what I’m talking about—bending over to pick up their waste in a plastic bag while trying to keep your hands as far away from it as possible, then carrying a poop-filled bag around with you until you find a trash can. Not fun, not sanitary, but totally necessary.

Bleu Paw to the rescue! The Bleu Paw pet waste scooper not only keeps your hands away from the mess, but it also keeps itself away from it, too. How, you ask? The shaft of the Bleu Paw scooper has a sticky roller on it. You put a plastic bag over the scooping mechanism and stick the bag to the roller, then scoop the poop. After that, it’s a simple matter to detach the bag from the roller and, while keeping the scoop closed, pull the bag off the scoop, then open the scoop, remove the bag with its icky contents, and tie it closed.

The nastiness is inside the plastic bag at all times and doesn’t touch anything else. Since the plastic bag is over the working end of the Bleu Paw scoop, the scoop itself doesn’t get soiled because it’s never in direct contact with the poop. And it really works! There’s even a locking latch on the Bleu Paw handle, so you can secure the sealed bag inside the scoop for hands-free transport to a trash can. In addition, the attached carabiner clip can be used to attach the Bleu Paw scooper to a leash, backpack, stroller, or belt, so it’s easy to bring it with you pretty much anywhere.

I’ve used other pooper scoopers, and I find that the Bleu Paw has a lot of thoughtful features that set it apart. For me, the best part is not only that my hands stay clean but that the scoop does, too, saving me from the pretty gross task of washing a dirty scooper. Measuring in at about a foot long, the Bleu Paw’s compact size does mean that I have to bend over to use it, but that’s a small tradeoff for the convenience of being able to carry it with me and my doggies on walks or to toss it in the back of the car. And like I said, it works!
