Healthy Snack Recipes That Require No Cooking

August 14, 2017 by Classystaff

Healthy Snack Recipes That Require No CookingAre you the type of person who feels tired and hungry in the middle of the day? Do you need to pump up your energy before a power workout? In need of something to munch on during long trips? Snacking on healthy foods is a good practice that helps you solve these problems – and even more.

Snacking, provided that it is done the right way, benefits your body in many ways. It gives you just the right amount of nutrients and calories to increase your mental and physical performance, boosts your mood, and keeps you in shape.

We’re often told that healthy snacks need cooking and thorough preparation. For people who have hectic schedules, this can be too much of a hassle. Isn’t there any other way? Of course, there is. Check out the list below to discover no-cook, no-fuss great snack alternatives to improve your health today.

1. Yogurt Berry Cups

Yogurt berry cups are a no-brainer. This easy-peasy recipe needs only four nutritious ingredients: Greek or plain yogurt, chopped walnuts, strawberries, and blueberries. Take out a glass and fill one layer with yogurt and another layer with the chopped walnuts, strawberries, and blueberries mixed together. Alternate each layer with these ingredients until the glass gets full. This snack dessert rich in protein and antioxidants is perfect for summer months.

2. Banana Ice Cream

Think there’s no life without meat and dairy? Think again! This banana ice cream recipe is just one of the best-tasting snack choice anyone will crave for. All you need is to do is freeze a couple of sliced bananas and blend them in a food processor. Satisfy yourself with this refreshingly sweet snack especially during those stressful days. Bananas are rich in potassium that help reduce blood pressure and vitamin B6 that stimulates the production of serotonin – a feel-good hormone.

3. Tuna Lettuce Wrap

If you want to take a break on white bread and go for some more greens for your tuna sandwich, try the tuna lettuce wrap. Instead of bread, you’re going to use lettuce to wrap the following: Canned tuna, cherry tomatoes, sliced avocado’s, chopped green onions, and light mayonnaise. Health enthusiasts swear by this snack for their pre-workout nutrient needs, camping trips, and to stave off hunger at work.

4. Fruit Salad on a Stick

What better way to satisfy your sweet tooth or get your little picky eater to eat healthy? Fruit salad on a stick is a juicy, colorful, and healthy combination of raspberries, cut oranges, pineapple chunks, kiwis, blueberries, and seedless grapes. Gather these fruits and arrange them on a bamboo stick. This snack treat is a powerhouse of the following vitamins and nutrients: Vitamins C, K, manganese, folate, vitamin B1 and 6.

5. Cottage Cheese with Sliced Peaches

While some people eat cottage cheese and sliced peaches for breakfast, you can make it a snack to fill you up the healthy way. Avoid chips and chocolate bars and opt for this simple recipe instead. This snack has zero trans-fat, 3 grams of fiber, and 8 grams of protein. A classic favorite of both kids and adults, simply make thin slices out of fresh peaches and use them to top a bowl of low-fat cottage cheese. This one’s perfect to enjoy for afternoon family gatherings, picnics, and even late-night movie trips.

Conclusion

With these no-cook snack recipes for any situation or craving, you don’t have to worry about putting your health at risk. Indeed, with a little research, you will realize that snacking healthily can be totally hassle-free and delightfully delicious. I hope you enjoyed this list!

Thank you so much for these wonderful recipe ideas. I think I will be trying the cottage cheese with sliced peaches as a snack for my infant son. Except that I will puree the peaches. I bet he will love it and it will be super healthy for him
