Korean Honey BBQ Skewers Recipe

July 8, 2017 by Jenelle

Korean Honey BBQ Skewers RecipeThis summer, supercharge your traditional BBQ, picnic and poolside cocktail recipes with cocoa. Cocoa-inspired comfort foods such as BBQ baked beans, spiced corn, flatbread pizza, and wings are simply more decadent when paired with a hint of cocoa and chocolate, adding a unique depth of taste.

Today’s guest post recipe is courtesy of THE COCOA EXHANGE™.

Korean Honey BBQ Skewers Recipe

1/4 cup POD & BEAN™ KOREAN BBQ SAUCE
2 tbsp honey
1 lb sirloin steak (or your favorite protein)
1/4 tsp Kosher salt
8 long wooden skewers, soaked at least 20 minutes
Non-stick spray
2 tbsp green onions, sliced thin
1 tsp sesame seeds, toasted

Directions

1. Combine POD & BEAN™ KOREAN BBQ SAUCE and honey together in a small bowl.
2. Season steak with salt, slice thin and place on skewers.
3. Heat lightly oiled grill to medium heat. Add steak to the grill and cook for 2-3 minutes on one side, turn and cook for 2-3 minutes more.
4. Brush the glaze on the steak, turn and brush on the remaining side.
5. Cook an additional minute or until meat is cooked to desired readiness.
6. Transfer to a platter, brush with any remaining glaze and top with sesame seeds and scallions.

I have never tried the POD & BEAN KOREAN BBQ sauce. However, I think that this would be a great recipe to try.

We have been doing skewers lately for the grill and finding they are quick and easy and with some marinating very delicious. I have never used Korean bbq sauce but it is something that I would like to try for a marinade.
