Escape the City with a Weekend Getaway to Seneca Allegany Resort & Casino

June 14, 2017 by Shelly

Seneca Allegany Resort & Casino in Salamanca New YorkWe live in the city and are always looking for a good excuse to escape to the mountains. Since our 30th wedding anniversary was upon us, this was perfect excuse to go! We wanted to stay in a resort that offered us a ton of different things to do.

The Seneca Allegany Resort & Casino is located in Salamanca, New York. If you’re coming from south central Pennsylvania, it’s roughly a 3 1/2 to 4 hour drive. The entire drive up to Salamanca was beautiful. Miles upon miles of beautiful mountains and state parks.

One of the most attractive things about this particular resort is that they offer everything that you need right on-site! You’ll find overnight accommodations, a full-service professional spa, heated indoor swimming pool, heated hot tub, a fitness center, outdoor deck with in-season hot tub, gift shops, restaurants, a fun casino gaming floor, meeting rooms and they host various on-site entertainment events! Like I said, you can park your car, stay for a few days and not return to your car again, until it’s time to go home.

Their guest rooms are comfortable, luxurious, affordable and modern. They offer different type’s of guest suites depending upon your needs. You can see the type’s of rooms that they offer, directly on their website.

We stayed in an upgraded deluxe corner suite that included a spaceous living & seating area, comfortable sleeping area, luxurious in-room whirlpool tub, over-sized bathroom area and more! Our corner suite had large windows and in every direction you got a scenic view of the mountains.

During our stay we visited their full-service salon where I enjoyed a pedicure and foot soak, while my husband enjoyed a Swedish massage. Afterwards, he relaxed in the sauna which was just what he needed on that particular day.

I skipped the sauna and went out to sit on the sundeck to enjoy the sunshine, fresh air and the gorgeous mountain scenery. One of the best things about the sundeck? During the summer season you can soak in the hot tub while enjoying the fresh air!

During both nights that we were there we went down to the Casino to enjoy some gaming action. You’ll find over 30 live-action table games and over 1,800 reel and video slot machines to enjoy, including penny spins and high-limit pulls. There is something for everyone to enjoy in the casino!

Let’s talk about food! On-site you’ll find The Western Door Steakhouse, Patria Fine Italian Restaurant, Thunder Mountain Buffet, The Seneca Cafe and Bear Claw Cafe. If you want to eat-in, you can call down for room service too!

Patria Fine Italian Resort at Seneca Allegany Resort & Casino

On one particular evening we enjoyed some of the BEST Italian food at Patria which offers fine dining at it’s best! My husband enjoyed an Italian Sea Bass entree and I enjoyed some classic spaghetti & meatballs. For starters, we had delicious salads and homemade bread. They can get busy at Patria, so reservations are recommended.

The Seneca Cafe at Seneca Allegany Resort & Casino

The second night we decided to have dinner at The Seneca Cafe and enjoyed a grilled supreme pizza, sweet potato fries with honey dipping sauce and a few other things. For a cafe, the food was delicious and I’m still yearning for more of those sweet potato fries!

Looking for even more fun? Plan your visit around one of their live events, entertainment or shows! They often host music concerts, comedy shows and more by some of your favorite performers. You can find a schedule of events listed right on their website and follow them on Facebook for up-to-the-minute updates.

For your on-site shopping pleasure you’ll find The LOGO Shop, Swarovski and B-Iconic stores. All three of them offer something different and for a resort, their price points were excellent! I picked up a few things for myself and a couple of souvenirs for my grandchildren.
