Looking for a way to prolong the freshness of your fresh produce? Tired of throwing it away because you can’t eat it fast enough? If you answered YES, you’re going to love the product that we’re featuring today.
Let me introduce you to the VeggieZips with HydroLiners Produce Storage Bags from Bluapple. These produce bags are specially designed to prolong the life of your fresh produce and utilize patent-pending U-Vent Technology which controls the humidity, while the HydroLiner controls the moisture. This system allows for the perfect balance of humidity & moisture, while allowing the harmful ethylene gas to escape.
Each package comes with the special produce storage bags, a package of the HydroLiners sheets and a little instruction sheet which will help guide you on how to use them. In other words, it will tell you exactly how to store your lettuce, broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, tomatoes, spinach, etc. Sometimes you’ll need your HydroLiners sheet to be dry and at other times it needs to be dampened.
I received a complimentary box of the new VeggieZips Produce Storage Bags to try out for all of you. The first thing that I wanted to test them out on was our iceberg lettuce, which always seems to go bad within 3-4 days after I’ve purchased it.
I followed the directions on the instruction sheet (washed my lettuce, left the water drain a little bit, dampened the included HydroLiners sheet, wrapped the damp sheet around my lettuce and placed it all into the VeggieZips bag. I then placed it into my vegetable bin in my refrigerator. That’s it, super easy!
My results: Typically I’m tossing out iceberg lettuce on day 3 or 4, due to it wilting and turning brown. Since I’ve been storing my lettuce in the VeggieZips storage bags, I haven’t had to toss any! That’s right! It’s now lasting us at least a week (we typically have it all eaten about a week after we purchase it) and I haven’t thrown any away! Wow, I’m really impressed!

Now that we’re home from vacation, I’ll be loading up on fresh produce and trying the VeggieZips out on some strawberries, tomatoes, cucumbers, bell peppers, etc. I’m sure I’ll have just as fantastic results!

Bluapple is designed to absorb ethylene gas from the typical home refrigerator for three months, however you may want to check the potency of the granules yourself. Heavy produce users may need to change their packet more often, while light produce users may see the potency of Bluapple lasting well over three months.

The Bluapple® is designed to provide effective ethylene gas absorption for three months in a typical home refrigerator produce bin or storage container. The active ingredient does not “wear out”, but continues to absorb ethylene until it has reached its capacity. A One Year Refill Kit rounds out the Bluapple® ethylene gas management product line, allowing consumers to reuse Bluapples® and not add them to landfills.
Thanks for the contest.
I learned they also sell the blue apple. The blue apple and the bags absorb gasses that make produce spoil faster. I learned that the blue apple lasts typically for 3 months because after that it has reached absorbtion amounts. Pretty nifty.
They are reusable, which makes them even a better buy.
I would love to try it on lettuce and cucumbers I hate throwing things out.
I re-pinned the raspberry peach prosecco punch recipe.

I learned that there is a way to keep even bananas and avocados fresher for a longer period of time even though it is trickier. Avocados are stored in the fridge with bluapple and taken out as you want them.

I learned that you can get 2 Bluapples and one year of refills for only $17.99
I like the bluapple to reduce odor. This would be a money saver for sure.
The.U Vent doors are genius! I need to try this these!
I use the Bluapple now (the plastic blue apples not the bags) and it’s news to me that you can have them email you when it’s time to change the refill inside. I sort of guess but have many extra refills and extra Bluapples, so I’m thrilled to read about the bags. Maybe the bags can help me keep my cilantro longer. It only lasts a few days as is.
The bags have U-Vent™ doors that open and close to support active plant respiration.

The actual ‘Blue Apple’ product looks pretty neat, too. It absorbs the ethylene gas that produce puts out & that way produce in your crisper isn’t absorbing it & going bad. That is a genius idea.
I have never seen something so neat. Would absolutely love giving these a try.
