If you’ve been following this blog or if you’ve been following me on Pinterest, you’ll already know that I love baking homemade cookies for my family to enjoy. I rarely, and I mean RARELY purchase store-bought cookies! Since I make a lot of homemade cookies, I’m always trying out new recipes, so that my family never gets bored with them.
A few months ago a recipe was floating around online for Marshmallow Hershey’s Kiss Cookies and I added it to my must-make list. After I printed it out, I realized that my printer didn’t catch where the original recipe came from. Anyway, these cookies are absolutely delicious and super-easy to make. You can make them anytime and I think they would be great to serve at a child’s birthday party too! The recipe will make approximately 22 to 24 cookies.
Marshmallow Hershey’s Kiss Cookies Recipe
24 Hershey’s Chocolate Kisses, unwrapped
colored cookie sprinkles (we used 3 different colors)
tap water
24 large marshmallows
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2teaspoon salt
1/2 cup butter, softened
1 cup granulated sugar
1 large egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup whole milk
non-stick baking spray
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Unwrap Hershey’s Kisses and set aside in a small bowl. Lightly dampen each large marshmallow with tap water, lightly pat dry with a paper towel and then roll each marshmallow into colored sprinkles to coat it. Set aside on a large plate.
In a large mixing bowl combine together the all-purpose flour, baking soda and salt. Sift ingredients together to combine, set aside.
In a separate large mixing bowl cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar. Using an electric mixer, beat in the large egg, vanilla extract and milk until all ingredients are combined and creamy.
Slowly beat the flour mixture into the creamy butter mixture, beating after each addition. Beat with an electric mixer on the low speed setting until well combined.
Lightly mist your baking sheet with non-stick baking spray. Drop cookie dough onto the prepare baking sheet leaving 3″ between each one. Place baking sheet into a preheated oven and bake for 10-12 minutes or until cookies are almost done.
Remove baking sheet from oven and press a large marshmallow into the center of each cookie. Place sheet back into the oven for an additional 1 1/2 to 2 minutes. Remove from oven and place an unwrapped Hershey’s Chocolate Kiss into the center of each one. Let cool.
Once all of the cookies are cool, store them in an airtight container.
Note: We made these cookies a few times now and the entire family loves them!!! Last week when we made them we used Hershey’s Peanut Butter Chocolate Kisses and they were equally as good. Before that, we used the Hershey’s Hugs Chocolate Kisses and again, the cookies were delicious! Make sure you try them with the various flavored Hershey’s Kisses too!
