Safe Catch developed the first technology solution to screen every single fish for purity, which no other tuna brand does, and raw packs its tuna, meaning it’s not packed in water or oil and no additives are added.
What’s new with Safe Catch? Well, they just started adding some flavor to its tuna and introduced six new flavors that will be available online: Chili Lime, Garlic Herb, Habanero Mint, Tandoori, Cajun and Citrus Pepper. As an added health bonus, Safe Catch is the first brand to season its tuna with avocado oil!
My family enjoys tuna and we use it a variety of different ways. We like to use it when we make a tuna noodle casserole, baked or fried tuna cakes (like crab cakes) or just whipped up into a tasty tuna salad sandwich. I try to keep tuna on-hand at all times, as it makes for a quick lunch or dinner. Plus, in our neck-of-the-woods, we keep tuna on-hand for emergencies when storms blow through.

I was sent one can of each of the six new flavors to try out for all of you. Since I’ve been traveling, I had my daughter Jenelle help out with this review. She decided to use the Safe Catch Garlic Herb Tuna when she whipped up a homemade tuna noodle casserole for dinner last week. You can use this flavored tuna in any recipe that calls for canned tuna fish.
Jenelle said that this flavored tuna was the perfect way to dress-up that old tuna casserole recipe that you’ve been using for years. It added a nice flavor that wasn’t over-powering with garlic at all. While her children didn’t eat it…her and her husband devoured it.
My husband enjoys eating cold tuna salad sandwiches, so he used the can of the Safe Catch Citrus Pepper to make his favorite tuna salad recipe which includes the addition of finely chopped onions, sliced hard-boiled eggs, finely chopped celery, chopped grapes and mayonnaise. Once everything was mixed, he refrigerated it for 2 hours to allow the flavors to infuse together. You can serve your tuna salad on a bed of lettuce with sliced tomatoes or turn it into a sandwich. He said it was very flavorful and a nice change from the ordinary!
