Spring has arrived in earnest and Mother’s Day is just around the corner. Capture that springtime brunch buzz and impress friends by whipping up this delicious Amaretto Almond Coffee recipe that is courtesy of our friends over at Nielsen-Massey Vanillas. The recipe will yield 2 servings. Following the recipe you’ll find information on the Nielsen-Massey Pure Almond Extract that was used in the recipe.
Iced Amaretto Almond Coffee Recipe
8 fl. oz. dark roast, freshly brewed, black coffee
2 tablespoons firmly packed dark brown sugar
3 fl. oz. heavy whipping cream
2 fl. oz. Amaretto
1 teaspoon Nielsen-Massey Pure Vanilla Extract
1/4 teaspoon Nielsen-Massey Pure Almond Extract
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon (divided)
In a cocktail shaker, add hot coffee and brown sugar; stir until sugar has dissolved. Add cream, Amaretto, vanilla and almond extracts; fill with ice and shake. Strain mixture into two tall ice-filled glasses. Garnish each glass with 1/8 teaspoon of cinnamon. Need help making the recipe? You can find a how-to video right on the company’s Facebook page.
Nielsen-Massey sent us a complimentary bottle of their Pure Almond Extract, so that we could try out the Iced Amaretto Almond Coffee recipe too! It’s really easy to make and I love that I can make a specialty coffee beverage at-home and not pay gourmet coffee shop prices.
You can use the Pure Almond Extract in all kinds of different recipes. Think beverages, cookies, sweet breads, desserts and everything in between. If your recipe calls for 1 Tbsp. almond paste, you’ll want to use a 1/4 tsp. Pure Almond Extract + 1 Tbsp. granulated sugar to equal 1 Tbsp. almond paste. The conversion instructions are printed right on the bottle. I can’t wait to try it out in a few cookie recipes that I’ve been stashing away.
