The Best Workout for Teenage Girls

The Best Workout for Teenage Girls

If there is one age group that is perhaps the most vulnerable when it comes to having the best possible body shape, then it is the teenager girl. There are many sources of inspiration, stress, feedback and so on. Some of these sources are:

• Peers.
• Role models.
• Movie stars and
• Other celebrities.

One thing is for sure, it is important to be fit at any age and as far as teenage girls are concerned, there are a few things that can be incorporated into workouts and fitness routines.

Abs
Keeping belly fat under control is a battle indeed but with a few core exercises, this battle can be fought on more even terms.
• Squats – remember to stand straight and keep your back straight as you slowly perform squats.
• Plank – holding a position that is almost a push-up is pretty tough so start with less than 5 a day for 5 seconds each and build from there.
• Bicycle – lie flat on the floor. Raise your legs and pedal in the air.
• Leg lifts – lie down flat and lift your legs straight up. Start with one leg each in case you have never done this exercise before.

Legs
Short skirts, dresses, jeans – whatever you wear, your legs have to well-toned and strong. Here are a few exercises that will help.
• Leg raises – do them in every direction. You can stand and lift your leg in front, sideways and towards the rear. You can also do lateral leg raises while lying down.
• Using resistance bands – this is a nice addition to your workout routine. It can be used to make those leg lifts a bit more difficult, thus giving you more strength as you go along.

Butt
Butt lifts can help give your rear a well-toned look. Lie down flat, bend your knees and slowly raise your butt and lower back off the floor. Stay in this position for at least 10 seconds and then lower your back gently. While you are off the floor, flex and hold your glute muscles for even faster results.

Holistic exercises
If hitting the gym is not your cup of tea then you can think of many other alternatives such as:

• Yoga.
• Skipping rope.
• Running.
• Tai chi.
• Swimming
• Cycling and
• Walking etc.

It is important to have a routine. Regardless of the workout you choose.

Mixing it up
According to http://www.fitnessgoals.com, a leading fitness website, the most interesting workout routine a teenage girl can have is a mix of everything. This staves off boredom and enhances commitment to the fit lifestyle. Dedicate one day of the evening for a particular type of exercise and you should be well on your way to have some fun. Mondays for swimming, Tuesdays for the gym, Wednesdays for walking, Fridays for yoga and so on. You could also do different activities within one hour every day. For instance, go for a walk and then hit the gym and then jog back home.

It is also useful to eat healthy along with working out, thus maximizing your fitness routines.
