Easy Honey Glazed Ham Recipe

Easy Honey Glazed Ham RecipeThree times a year we make a ham for holiday dinners. Okay, I admit, two of those times are for holiday dinners and the third time is for my Birthday. Yup, I love a good ham dinner on my Birthday. With that said, every Christmas and Easter we make a delicious honey glazed ham and today, I thought I would share the recipe with all of you.

We use a fully-cooked ham that we buy at the store…which cuts down on baking time. All of the basting and baking time will depend on the size of your ham and if you’re starting out with a fully-cooked ham or not.

Honey Glazed Ham Recipe

1 large ham, fully cooked
2 large oranges, sliced
1/2 cup prepared mustard
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup honey
2 tablespoons orange juice
whole cloves

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Score the top of your ham after baking it for 30 minutes in a preheated oven. Insert orange slices and cloves. Mix the remaining above ingredients together in a medium sized bowl and pour the glaze mixture over top of the ham. Continue to baste your ham every 20-30 minutes with the juices until its done. Remove and let sit for 5-8 minutes before serving.

  1. This recipe is perfect in time for Easter! This will be a big hit!

I often make Ham for Easter. Sometimes I use a glaze like this one and other times I substitute apple juice for the orange.

  3. Very flavorful recipe with the sliced oranges and orange juice. I like to get the fully baked ones also and find a good glaze so that it doesn’t take so long. I get it large enough so we can have plenty of leftovers for sandwiches during the week.

This is the exact same way my Mother made a ham and so do I. The only deviation is I refer a ham with bone in so I can make bean soup later on. I wish they sold just that bone sometimes. I think the mustard adds a nice kick and depending on my mood I might add a bit more.

I adore a good ham. The hard part for me is finding one that hasn’t been spiral sliced. Who started that trend and where can I find them so that I can throttle them? I prefer to slow cook/heat it whole, and I do almost exactly what you do. I use Colman’s mustard (which is the best) and i fresh juice 2 oranges and thin slice a third orange and lay it all over the upper surface of the ham.

There aren’t many foods I like better than a good ham. This sounds like a recipe I would really like, too.

  9. I don’t eat pork products myself but that doesn’t mean I don’t prepare them for others. I was a vegetarian as a teen but still don’t eat pork and always have to look up how to make the basics. I love the mustard in this. I think my mom used pineapple too but it’s been so long, it’s hard to remember.
