How many of you enjoy eating chocolate brownies? What about a good homemade chocolate chip cookie? Well, if you like both of those, I think you’re going to love my daughter’s recipe for homemade brownies below.
For this recipe, I used Nielsen-Massey Mexican Pure Vanilla Extract. The Mexican vanilla extract is a marriage of sweet and woody notes with a deep, spicy character, similar to clove or nutmeg. This extract work’s well with chocolate, citrus fruits, cinnamon, cloves and other warm spices, perfect for baking! One tablespoon of vanilla extract is equivalent to one vanilla bean. It’s available in 2, 4, 8, and 32 ounce bottles. This product is Kosher and Gluten-Free Certified as well as All-Natural, Allergen-Free and GMO-Free.
Blonde Chocolate Chip Brownies Recipe
1/2 cup butter, softened
2 large eggs
1 1/2 cups light brown sugar
1 tsp. Nielsen-Massey Mexican Pure Vanilla Extract
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 to 1 1/4 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
non-stick baking spray
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
In a microwave safe container, melt the butter. Pour the melted butter into a large mixing bowl. Stir in the large eggs, light brown sugar, the Nielsen-Massey Mexican Vanilla Extract, all-purpose flour, baking soda and salt. You can stir by hand to combine the ingredients or use an electric mixer on the low speed setting. Once ingredients are combined, stir in the semi-sweet chocolate chips.
Spray an 8″ by 8″ baking dish with non-stick baking spray. Pour the batter into your prepared baking dish. Bake in a preheated oven for approximately 16 to 18 minutes or until the center is done. Remove and let cool. Once they’re cool, cut into bars and store in an airtight container.
Nielsen-Massey makes the best vanilla and flavored extracts out in the retail marketplace, in my honest opinion. I’ve been using their extracts almost exclusively for the past 5+ years and highly recommend them.
