Keep Your Pooch Pleasantly Puzzled with the Qwizl Dog Treat Toy

My dogs have a lot of toys. Squeaky toys, tug toys, fuzzy toys and lots of balls and discs to take to the park. Some toys are made better than others, that is for sure. There are some that last for months (or longer) and

Ghirardelli Chocolate Chip Cookies Recipe

Ghirardelli Chocolate Chip Cookies Recipe

Ghirardelli Chocolate Chip Cookies RecipeI admit, chocolate chip cookies are my all-time favorite cookies in the world and I could seriously eat them every day! When it comes to cookies, I like mine soft, chewy and filled with chocolate goodness!

I make a batch of homemade chocolate chip cookies every month and I try to vary the recipe, so that we don’t get bored with them. Sometimes I switch up the flavor of the chocolates, add in some peanut butter into the batter, toss in some chopped nuts, etc.

Last week I used the Ghirardelli recipe that you can find on the back of the bag of packaged semi-sweet chocolate chips. They’re one of my favorite brands! The recipe will make approximately 4 dozen cookies.

Bake in a preheated oven for 9 to 11 minutes or until done. Remove and let cool on a wire rack. Store cookies in an airtight storage container.

So, when it comes to homemade chocolate chip cookies, do you like using semi-sweet or dark chocolate chips? How often do you make cookies from scratch?

Craft Project – Wood Easter Egg Bunny Family

Craft Project – Wood Easter Egg Bunny Family

I love decorating for spring and the Easter holiday, especially with craft items that I made myself. I like to use handmade items inside and outside my home which really adds some personalized charm.

This Easter Bunny Family is really easy-to-make and you can make the entire family in one afternoon from some solid wood eggs, paint and some little embellishments. You can make one for every member in your family and display them year after year.

Unfinished Solid Wood Eggs
Vanilla or Off-White Acrylic Paint
Paint Brush
Sharpie Fine Tip Markers: Black, Pink and White
Scraps of Muslin or Homespun Cotton Fabric
All-Purpose Craft Glue or Glue Gun

Lay down plastic or newspaper onto your work surface. Since you’ll be painting, you’ll want to protect your work surface. Upcycled plastic bubble wrap also makes a nice painting surface and nothing seems to stick to it!

Paint your wooden eggs the color that you want them (we did an off-white almost an antique pale beige color). Let them thoroughly dry. Use the fine-tip Sharpie markers to draw on the eyes, whiskers, nose and mouth using the appropriate colors. Cut cotton muslin fabric into thin strips and tie each strip into a knot. Glue the knotted strip on top of each of the bunny’s heads to resemble bunny ears using all-purpose craft glue or a hot glue gun. Let dry.

For a personalized touch, you can write each family member’s name on the bottom of each egg and the date that you made them. Our’s stand up on their own since we bought flat bottom wooden eggs. If your’s need help standing up, you can place each one inside a rubber washer which will help it to stand up and not roll around.

You can use blue cotton fabric to make bunny ears for the boys, mauve/pink for the girls or just use natural muslin fabric for a true country/primitive look. Very versatile and easy Easter craft project to make.

“Pretending to be normal day after day is exhausting,” says Suzy Toronto. Toronto is a self-proclaimed “wacky” woman, and she wants others to embrace their inner wackiness too. In fact, she’s created an entire art brand that speaks (mostly) to girls and women, inspiring them
