Mistakes to Avoid When Choosing Wedding Flowers

March 23, 2017 by Jenelle

While you may not be able to control every single thing that happens on your wedding day, taking time to plan before the big event is a great way to ensure that you, the groom, and all of your guests enjoy the day. One area where a little planning can definitely help is with the wedding flowers. The following tips can help you to avoid mistakes when it comes to choosing your wedding flowers.

The very first thing you want to do is see the big picture. Of course, you want to visualize what the centerpiece on each table will look like, but even more important than that is visualizing what the entire reception room is going to look like when your guests walk in. For example, if you are going to have your wedding reception in an area that is very scenic and you know your guests are going to want to have a nice view, do not choose tall centerpieces that will block their view.

Take time to find florists Sydney who you can trust. You want to see the centerpieces and flower arrangements they have made for other events. Once you are happy with the choice you have made, trust the florist. These professionals want to make your wedding as beautiful as possible. Remember, you are hiring a professional. Be honest when it comes to your likes and dislikes, but then trust that they are going to make decisions that will make your wedding breathtaking.

One great way to save some money as well as ensure that the wedding and reception are absolutely gorgeous is by reusing arrangements that were originally designed for the ceremony. Flowers that were centerpieces during the wedding can be moved to the reception site and placed in locations that will add to the beauty of the reception. For example, they can be placed around the buffet table. You do not want to let these arrangements go to waste. They can very easily be incorporated into the decor of the reception.

Try to be flexible when it comes to how you want the flowers for your wedding and reception to look. It may be a better idea for you to give the florist information about how you want to the wedding and reception to look and feel instead of having your heart set on specific types of flowers. The professional will be able to do a much better job if you allow them to use their creativity to accomplish your goals.

Some brides immediately pass on the idea of expensive flowers. This is not always the wisest or cost-effective thing to do. For example, most orchids are usually more expensive, but just think of the amount of space they will cover as opposed to a bouquet of roses. At first, the price of the flower may seem high, but when you think of the impact it will have, you will likely see that more expensive flowers are more valuable.

Don’t use just one color. This is going to make for extremely disappointing and boring pictures. Use flowers to accent the clothing that is worn by your bridal party and the overall decor of the area where the wedding and reception will be held.

These few tips can help you to avoid mistakes when choosing flowers for your wedding.
