The ion8 Ultimate Sports Water Bottle, Designed for Ease of Use
If you’re anything like me, you’ve got a collection of water bottles. They’re all pretty nice, but you still keep searching for the perfect water bottle, one that’s not too big or too small, that’s easy to hold and carry, that doesn’t leak—we’ve all got a list of features we look for. The ion8 Ultimate Sports Water Bottle might be the solution you’ve been looking for.
Check out this list of features and specs for the ion8 Ultimate:
• BPA free
• 100% leak proof
• Dishwasher safe
• Soft touch surface and concave sides for effortless grip
• Suitable for hot and cold liquids from 14°F to 204°F
• One-handed flip top opening
• Locking lid to prevent accidental opening
• Fast flow for rapid hydration
• 18 ounce capacity
• Large opening for inserting ice cubes and for cleaning
As if that’s not enough, it comes in a wide range of fun colors, from clear to pastel to bright to dark. In fact, its innovative design is award winning, having received the Red Dot Design Award in 2016 and the iF Design Award in 2017.
The name “ion8” stems from the fact that this bottle will ionize water. The water molecules contact and pass by crystals in the band that have a natural magnetic field, which ionizes the water. I can’t pretend to understand the scientific process, but if you’re curious, you can read more about it at ion8’s website. Although the benefits of drinking ionized water haven’t been scientifically proven, it supposedly has anti-aging properties, helps flush toxins, is good for skin, and is more effective at hydration.
My Experience: Overall, I like the ion8 Ultimate. It is indeed easy to grip, and it fits perfectly into my car’s cup holder. It’s not insulated so it doesn’t keep my tea hot, but that’s not a deal-breaker for me. It’s a great way for me to tote my tea around without worrying about it spilling.
Although I need to use both hands to unlock the locking mechanism, once it’s unlocked, I love being able to flip open the lid with one hand without having to look at it. And even unlocked, it doesn’t leak or spill if tilted or knocked over, as long as the lid is closed. I do keep the lid locked when tucking it in my bag just to make sure the lid button doesn’t get pressed accidentally.
Another thing I like about the ion8 Ultimate is that the spout is located near the edge, which means that the liquid flows out quickly and I don’t need to tilt my head back or tip the bottle much at all. Even when I was driving, I was able to open and drink from the bottle without having to take my eyes off the road! It took a little getting used to, and sometimes my nose touches the lid, but I like not having to crick my neck or suck at the bottle in order to get a drink.
