Last year we gave our front porch a total makeover! My husband tore down the old porch columns and built custom ones to replace them. We resurfaced the cement flooring, added a white picket porch railing, painted and then added some new furniture items. The only thing we needed to do was add some new lighting.
Like most front porches…we have 2 large overhead outdoor lights which are okay if we’re going in and out of the house. However, they are too big and too bright if you want to sit outside and just relax. On top of that, they attracted the bugs and if we left them on too long, we were eaten alive. Last week we solved our lighting problems and I’m excited to show you our new front porch lights!
Let me introduce you to the BYBLight Waterproof LED Strip Lights Kit! We decided to add the new lights underneath our new porch railing which worked out perfectly for us. You simply measure your area, pull off the backing on the strip tape and adhere them to your surface. In our case, we ran them underneath the porch railing across the front of the porch. From start to finish, this took my husband less than 10 minutes to complete.
One of the things that fascinated me with these LED Strip Tape Lights is how small they are! Check out the photo below, they look like tiny dots on a piece of tape, but don’t let that fool you…they are bright and white! You can place them in the tiniest of places and I think they would be super-cool to run underneath your kitchen cabinets if you don’t have under-the-cabinet lights or use them on your back deck.
Once you have them adhered to your surface…you simply plug in the one end to an electrical outlet. They come with a very cool wireless remote control so you can turn them on and off, change the brightness of the LED lights, set them to twinkle like holiday lights or use the super-cool fading & dimming settings. A lot of options with that!
Hubby said that one of the coolest things about this LED Strip Light Kit is that the entire strip has measurements running across it (see photo above) and there are “markers” along the strip tape that shows you were you can cut them to make them fit within your desired area. That totally takes the guesswork out of it.

There are 2 shades of white, cool and warm, I’m not sure you mentioned which one you used, I usually prefer the warm over the cool. I like that it has a remote and lots of options, I really would love to have these, I have new xmas lights to hang for night lights because it’s so dark out here. But I’m really interested in putting them under my bottom kitchen cabinets, I’ve always liked that look and this strip would do the job.
