Housmile Plug-in Waterproof Wireless Doorbell
For me, having a doorbell is essential, but many older homes don’t have the wiring to accommodate it. So, if you purchase an older home you, you’ll need to re-wire your home to have a fancy, smancy doorbell or you can elect to go the easy way with a wireless doorbell like the one I’m featuring today.
Last summer hubby repainted the exterior of our home, replaced the address plaque, mailbox, front door, porch lighting and other things that needed to be updated. We purchased our older home 5 years ago and have been steadily remodeling it and updating things as we go along.
One thing that was an “eye sore” was the old wireless 1980’s doorbell that the previous home owners had. I wanted a new doorbell, but I didn’t want my husband to go through the hassle of running new wiring, spending a load of money or making a new mess for me to clean up. Well, problem solved!
Last weekend he installed our new Housmile Plug-in Waterproof Wireless Doorbell that we got from Amazon. What’s really cool is that within 5 minutes of taking it out of the box, it was up and running! No wiring to run, no mess for me to clean up! It took him 5 minutes to remove the old outdated bell and 5 minutes to put up the new one. Gosh, he loves 10 minute projects like this one!
This wireless doorbell has 52 different chimes and tones to choose from. As we scrolled through them, we even found a few holiday music chimes included. Super fun! Once you choose your chime, you have 4 different volume settings to choose from. Since we’re older, we went with the medium level, so that we can hear it chime from every room in our home.
The doorbell itself is the only item that gets a battery (included with the purchase) and the receiver simply plugs into an electrical outlet indoors. We plugged our’s in an used outlet in our kitchen which is in the center of our home. You’ll want to plug the receiver in a room that is centrally located, that way you can hear the doorbell from all areas in your home. Just my 2 cents on that.
I love the new doorbell! It looks nice and clean. The old one was yellow plastic and well, just looked terrible & something from the 70’s. This one looks clean and modern. It’s not ultra-fancy looking and that’s the way I like it. Super easy to install too! Next up on our to-do list..replacing that nasty front door handle (door knob). It has to go next!
