Time for another Fun Frugal Finds post! For the past year I’ve been wanting one of those storage ottomans that you see in a lot of the retail stores. However, I didn’t want one of those cheap collapsible, folding ones. I wanted a good-quality one that would last me for years.
Like most women, I have a lot of shoes and my bedroom closet is pretty small. In the past, I had to switch out my seasonal shoes and store my non-seasonal ones in the attic. On top of that, I found myself tossing shoes underneath my bed or on my closet floor.
I’ve seen plenty of storage ottomans that I liked, but the ones that I liked were out of my price range. I’m so grateful that I have some patience, because on President’s Weekend I found a bargain! Yup, a bargain!
The local furniture store had all of their ottomans for 50% off the lowest ticketed price. I found the perfect one for my coastal-style bedroom and it was marked down to $69.95 (from $99.99) and then I got 50% off the lowest price…bringing it down to $34.99. The real bonus…I had received a $25.00 gift card at Christmas, so out of pocket only cost me $10.00 plus tax. Yipppeee!
It’s an over-sized storage ottoman that is extremely sturdy. It’s the perfect size to hold about a dozen pairs of shoes & boots, along with a few of my hoodies. I can sit on the top of it and put my boots & shoes on too. I really LOVE how it looks and it’s a great way to keep all of my current season shoes in one place…nicely stored and out-of-sight!

Wow!! You really Got yourself a steal of a Deal! Lol! I love the wicker rattan stoarge ottomans. They are so awesome looking. It would look so lovely in my Daughters home. She has an Ocean inspired theme going on throughout her entire house.. Congratulations on your Great find. It solves your shoe storage problem and looks so Nice! :O)~~
I have two of these wicker rattan storage ottomans which I’ve had for years. They were not that expensive and are not high end, but not cheaply made either. I store sweaters and blankets in them but shoes are a good idea too. I had a bunch of wicker, including a chair, but got rid of most of it when I moved. I love storage ottomans since they’re double duty and look nice too.
What a great find! Your new ottoman looks good, but being able to store your shoes and providing seating space put it over the top. Well done! These days I’m hauling boxes of stuff to the thrift store and doing my best not to look around when I get there, so I don’t have any bargains to share. For now, I’ll have to shop vicariously through your fun frugal finds. 🙂
