Eco-Friendly Stainless Steel Drinking Straws

January 23, 2017 by Shelly

Stainless Steel Reusable Drinking StrawsHow many of you drink your beverages using a straw? I admit, I don’t, but my husband and mother do! Seriously, those two will blow through a package of plastic beverage straws in just two weeks and it drives me nuts!

Over the past few months I’ve been educating myself about harmful chemicals that are in plastic products that we use in our kitchens. Well, straws are one of them and they aren’t eco-friendly at all. I then did some research and learned about glass straws and stainless steel straws. While the glass straws look nice, glass breaks, so I didn’t want to deal with that. Hence, we opted to go with stainless steel.

Eco-Friendly Stainless Steel Drinking Straws

These Stainless Steel Straws are made out of 18/8 food-grade stainless steel. Each drinking straw measures approximately 10 1/2″ long and will fit in most of your travel cups that have the straw opening. Each package comes with two straight ones and two bent ones, along with a little bristle cleaning brush.

My family has been using them for the past 6-8 weeks now and they love them! If you’re worried about cleaning them, don’t be! You can place them into the dishwasher (in your utensil basket) or hand wash them in the sink. If you have any debris in the straw that needs to be cleaned out, just use the included bristle cleaning brush.

They’re made out of a really nice quality of stainless steel and when you hold them in your hands…they are light-weight, but extremely durable. They’ve been using them daily for weeks now and they still look brand new! I know my family will never go back to those icky & disposable plastic straws again!

I like the idea of using eco-friendly straws , but i have never tried stainless steel ones. These seem perfect because they are easy to clean and reuse and don’t break.

My grandkids both love using straws and we go through them quickly so this would be such a good idea to not have more plastic in our landfills. A nice feature that they come with a cleaning brush and I like that they can be put in the dishwasher.

I”ve had the glass straws for a couple of years and like them a lot. I’ve only had one break and that was my fault. I was shaking it out and hit the counter. Bad puppy. I’ve dropped them without breaking.

The only time I use straws is when I’ve made myself a smoothie, and I usually use a reusable plastic straw. But I want something more durable, that I can be sure I’m getting clean. This set of stainless steel straws looks ideal. Putting them on my wish list now. Thanks for the recommendation!

We seriously LOVE these stainless steel straws. I won’t go back to plastic, disposables or glass straws again. I have a little basket in my dishwasher and I put them into that for cleaning. I do sometimes handwash them and use the included brush if something gets stuck inside. I’ve got the grandchildren using them now too and went back and purchased 3 more sets of them.

I DO have a set of these straws and LOVE them. I have tried the glass too, and they are nice, but I am always afraid of breaking them. I saw the stainless maybe a year ago, and really liked how well they worked. These straws are fantastic for people with movement disorders or who are a bit shaky, they dont break and can be carried anywhere.
