Two years ago I jumped into the adult coloring hobby. It was an easy jump for me since I’m into a variety of paper crafts like scrapbooking, cardmaking and journaling. I love to sit down after a long, stressful day and relax by working on some type of paper crafting or paper art project.
One of the things I find totally relaxing is adult coloring and I own over 25+ adult coloring books. Once I complete a design, I sometimes remove them from the book and turn them into artsy laminated bookmarks, refrigerator magnets, party banners, laminated placemats, holiday ornaments, etc. You can make all kinds of things from your finished colored designs!
When it comes to adult coloring, my preferred medium is to use gel pens. I love the vivid colors that I can get and if you buy the right gel pens you can blend beautiful colors together and achieve some awesome shading when you do it properly. In addition, I love how gel pens just glide across the page.
With that said, not all gel pens are created equally! I’ve wasted a LOT of money over the past 2 years buying inferior gel pens that bled ink all over my designs, smeared all over my pages and took forever to dry. Plus, sometimes those colors look pretty on the packaging, but when you go to use them on paper, an entirely different story. Yeah, I’ve been there, done that!
Recently I stumbled upon a seller over on Amazon that sells PREMIUM GEL PENS for a really great price. Not only are they affordable, I absolutely love the colors (jeweltones) with a metallic finish. These are the colors that I love using in my designs and if you haven’t worked with metallic finish gel pens before, you’re in for a real treat!
Let me make this clear…I did NOT receive them for a review. I purchased them and I purchased them on my own and at regular price. I know a lot of you are into adult coloring, so I wanted to share my opinion on this product with all of you who are looking for affordable gel pens that do a great job!
The brand is called Color Technik PREMIUM GEL PENS. You get 12 of them in the package: 2 gold, 2 silver, 1 turquoise, 1 blue, 1 green, 1 dark purple, 1 red, 1 pink, 1 bronze and 1 black. Again, jewel-tones with a metallic finish. Plus, they are the comfort grip pens, so they don’t hurt your hands or fingers after hours of use.
I’m including a few photos today of completed pages that I’ve done that utilize a lot of the pens in this set (along with other pens in my collection) so you can see how beautiful the colors are. I originally purchased one set from the seller and over the past few weeks I’ve went back and purchased 6 more sets. Yup, I love them that much and I certainly love the price!
If you’re looking for Premium Gel Pens to use with your paper crafting projects or to use with adult coloring books, I highly recommend these! In addition, if you prefer using glitter gel pens (I’ve got those too) from Color Technik and love them! You can find them on Amazon too.

I told my mother about these pens. We so need to get a couple sets of these. I love how bright the colors look in the pictures.
(Adult Coloring: Premium Metallic-Color Gel Pens) I have never tried the colored gel pens yet for my adult coloring books. Would probably look pretty nice I would think.
