True Citrus Naturally Flavored Drink Mixes
Would you like a naturally flavored drink mix you can add to a bottle or glass of water to quench your thirst? Yeah, so would I! And I’ve found it, with True Citrus drink mixes.
In fact, I tried three flavors from True Citrus’s line of nine citrus-based drink mixes. The three I tried, Original Lemonade, Raspberry Lemonade, and Black Cherry Limeade, were all full of real fruit flavor, quite sweet yet tart at the same time, and very refreshing. I used them with bottled water (handy for on-the-go use) and with tap water (a less expensive option for drinking at home).
What sets True Citrus apart is their real citrus flavor, which they achieve through a proprietary process for cold-pressing and crystalizing the fruit’s juice and essential oils. They actually have patents on the process, so no other drink mix can promise such authentic citrus flavor. The sweetness is derived from stevia, a natural sweetener more potent than sugar, as well as a small amount of cane sugar to round out the flavor.
One serving (one packet) has only 10 calories–even more reason to like them! Each box contains 10 single-serving packets, with each packet perfect for flavoring 16 ounces of water. If you’re interested in making drinks by the pitcherful, True Citrus drink mixes also come in a five-pack box, where each packet makes two quarts. And if that’s not enough, you can buy True Citrus multi-packs of individual flavors or samplers.
But True Citrus makes more than just drink mixes. Their product line using their proprietary crystalized citrus juice and oil also includes unsweetened versions in True Lemon, True Orange, True Lime, and True Grapefruit flavors, which can be used in beverages (like adding a squeeze of citrus to a glass of water or tea or whatever) or in cooking or baking applications in place of the fresh fruit. And taking that concept one step further, they’ve created a line of citrus-based spice blends that come in shaker jars. None of their products contain any artificial flavors, sweeteners, or preservatives, and all are naturally free of sodium and gluten. As of late 2016, all of their products are non-GMO, too.
