Celebrating the Holiday Season at Hershey Sweet Lights

December 21, 2016 by Shelly

Hershey Sweet Lights in Hershey PennsylvaniaEvery December my family gets together for one of our annual Holiday traditions which includes a visit to Hershey Sweet Lights in Hershey Pennsylvania. Thousands of visitors around the tri-state area, look forward to Hershey Sweet Lights every year.

This Hershey holiday attraction is typically open right around Thanksgiving and they close up around New Year’s. It’s open 7 days a week and costs $20 per car load during the weekdays and $25 per car load during the weekends. Your price of admission includes 2 pairs of 3-D holiday glasses which the kids love to wear as we’re viewing the lights.

This is the 5th year in a row that my family has driven down to Hershey Sweet Lights and every year its a little bit better than the year before. Once you pay your admission, you’ll want to tune in your radio to their radio station, so that you can listen to holiday music as you’re driving through.

You’ll see hundreds of different holiday light displays! Santa Claus, Rudolph and Frosty the Snowman are a few of the popular characters that you’ll see. You’ll see animated light displays that the children really love to see. If you’re wearing the 3D glasses, all of the white lights will look like snowflakes which is super cool to see.

We always take along some throw blankets with us, so that we can wind the windows down in the car and see the lights without any glare. We also put the kids into their winter pajamas, as they typically fall asleep during the ride home. From start to finish…it takes us approximate 35-40 minutes to drive through all of the holiday light displays and trust me, we really take our time!

Today, I’m sharing with all of you 5 photo’s from our most recent visit to Hershey Sweet Lights in Hershey Pennsylvania. If you ever get the opportunity to visit during the holiday season, I highly recommend it. My family looks forward to it every year!

We went to the Longview Gardens light display with my son a few years ago. The light displays at Hershey sweet Lights look beautiful. I want to go and visit when my grandkids are bigger. Your idea of having the kids wear their pjs. is a good one.

What a fun tradition and you are smart to put the kids in their pj’s for the return ride home. The light looks just spectacular and fun. We go to the zoo lights here once every few years. Lots of fun but huge crowds and wait times.

Wow–those pictures are amazing! I can only imagine how much fun it must be for the kids, getting to go out for a special ride in their pajamas. That’s the kind of thing memories are made of.

That is beautiful! We dont have any huge displays here in town. I love going for a drive , making cocoa and having snacks and seeing the lights. We did this as kids and oooohed and ahhhed. This one of yours would be so pretty.

I love the lights this time of year. In KY, we have the Southern Lights display at the horsepark with all kinds of lights, animals, etc.

We have 3 great lights displays in Denver. Zoo Lights, Denver Botanic Gardens Blossoms of Light and Chatfield Farms Trail of Lights.
