The holidays are coming and if you’re looking for a super easy and delicious dessert recipe to prepare during the season, we’ve got one for you today that’s courtesy of the great folks over at Gaea. We love the various takes on baked pears and I admit, this recipe looks delicious and is on my must-make list!
Baked Pears with Chocolate Ice Cream Recipe
1 pound semi-sweet chocolate ice cream
2 3/4 tablespoon butter
4 tablespoon brown sugar
8 pears, peeled and cut in half, seeds removed
Juice and zest of 1 orange
Black peppercorns
4 Tbsp. Gaea Kalamata D.O.P Greek Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Place shallow pan over heat and add butter and sugar. Stirring constantly over low flame, allow mixture to caramelize. Add pears and turning over frequently cook them for about 10 minutes or until they caramelize. Add orange zest and juice and remove pan from heat. Place a large scoop of chocolate ice cream in each bowl, arrange 2 pears around it together with the pan liquid. Sprinkle with black pepper and drizzle pears with 1 Tbsp. of olive oil.

I love the idea of this combination of pears and chocolate ice cream. I find the addition of black pepper and olive oil at the end to be very interesting.
I love baked pears but never thought to do chocolate with them. I think I would like it with a good vanilla better, but I guess it depends if you like chocolate or not. Dont get me wrong I like chocolate now and again, but in general it makes me cough, no clue why maybe a slight allergy! I like the pears though and thats the best part.
This recipe sounds amazing and so perfect for the season. I love pears so much and this combination sounds so good thanks for sharing this one.
For some reason, I’ve never been a fan of pears. But my Mom likes them, so I think she would enjoy this a lot.
I’ve never had a pear/chocolate ice cream flavor combination before. I do like both, so I’d love to taste it together. Looks delicious!
