How many of you use sunscreen all year long? I know that I do! I spend a lot of time outdoors, year-round…so I’m always applying sunscreen, especially to my face. Sun exposure can cause premature wrinkles, fine lines, age spots and of course, over-exposure can cause skin cancer.
It’s important to protect your skin year-round, but let’s face it…liquids, lotions and sprays can be messy. In addition, those types of products are hard to travel with, since most airlines have restrictions on liquid products. What’s a person to do? Well, I’m going to tell you!
Let me introduce you to three great sunscreen products that I’ve recently had the opportunity to try.
* Ocean Potion Clear Zinc Oxide FACE Potion SPF 45
This light, creamy zinc formula applies easily, goes on clear, dries to a mat finish. Offers broad-spectrum protection against UVA and UVB rays. Great for sensitive skin. This product won’t clog pores, is hypoallergenic, non-greasy, absorbs quickly, PABA free, fragrance free and oil free. You can use it on your face, nose, lips and ears. 1.0 oz. $4.99. I’ve been using this particular product (my favorite out of the three) almost daily for the past 2 1/2 weeks. I put it all over my face and then apply my makeup over top. It has a light & airy whipped-cream type of consistency to it and I love how it feels on my skin. I have super-sensitive skin and have had no issues with this one at all.
* NO-AD Body and Face Stick SPF 50
This sunscreen stick is super convenient. Ultra-lightweight formula applies smoothly and goes on clear with no white mess. Broad-spectrum UVA/UVB SPF 50 sun protection. Fragrance-free, nonirritating formula is great for sensitive skin. You can use this one on your body and/or face. It’s a water-resistant formula (up to 80 minutes) and is paraben-free. 1.5 oz. $6.99. Available at Walgreens.
We have a swimming pool in our backyard and we have a beach house. We spend a lot of time in and near water every summer, so having a great water-resistant sunscreen is important to me and my family. I love the convenience of having it in a stick formulation like this one, which means it’s easy to travel with. I can toss it into our travel bag and just go!
* BullFrog Land Sport Quik Stik SPF 50
Lightweight, no-drag application. Preferred by outdoor enthusiasts. Non-greasy, clear zinc formula goes on clear and leaves no white residue. Convenient, no-mess application enables on-the-go coverage for face, nose, lips, ears, or scalp. PABA- and paraben-free. No Avobenzone or Oxybenzone. Fragrance-free and hypoallergenic. This particular one is perfect for my husband who loves to spend a lot of time outdoors boating, jet skiing, fishing, riding his bike, hiking, etc. In the past I used to have to harass my husband to put his liquid sunscreen on, but since this is in a stick formulation, he loves it! He no longer complains about his hands getting greasy and messy from applying a sunscreen! He uses the stick on his body and face and loves how it glides across his skin. He keeps this stick in his backpack, so it’s always ready to go when he is.

I love the idea of these non greasy sunscreens. Now that I live very close to a Walgreens it will be so easy to purchase them.
I llike the idea of this. I wear sunscreen sometimes even in the winter if it is super bright and sunny! These would be less mess. I think too, being in containers, they would be easier to carry.
I want the Ocean Potion Clear Zinc Oxide FACE Potion SPF 45. Especially since it’s great for sensitive skin. I do wear sunscreen year round and this would be good.
I like the small container of Ocean Potion and it looks convenient to use. I’d just go through an ounce pretty quickly though, living in California. This would be good to stash in my purse as a back up or in my pocket.
