Movie Review: Nine Lives Starring Kevin Spacey

An all-star cast, a collection of cats, whats not to love? Kevin Spacey, Jennifer Garner, and Christopher Walken star in this purr-fect family comedy. Nine Lives is sure to make a cat-lover out of everyone as you and your family enjoy all of Mr. FuzzyPants’ hijinks!
Billionaire Tom Brand’s (Keven Spacey) workaholic lifestyle has distanced him from his beautiful wife Lara (Jennifer Garner) and adoring daughter Rebecca (Malina Weissman). Hoping to make amends, Tom buys Rebecca a cat for her birthday. But a bizarre event lands Tom inside the cat’s body. Now, Tom must either cough up proof that he’s a loving dad or he’ll spend the rest of his life coughing up hairballs in this hilarious movie directed by Barry Sonnenfeld.
Our Thoughts: Since I’m not a huge comedy fan, I had my husband sit down to watch this movie with me. Comedies are his preferred genre of movies, so I wanted to make sure I included him in this movie review, so I could share an honest opinion with all of you.
I’m a HUGE cat fan, so I obviously gravitated to this movie. In addition, I do enjoy watching Kevin Spacey and Jennifer Garner in past projects that they’ve done. This movie (I admit) is hysterically funny! It’s not what I call “slapstick comedy” at all. It’s great comedy with a very entertaining story line to go along with it. The actors did a great job with this one and we both found it to be entertaining from start to finish. The humor that is often used in it is “cute humor” and you could certainly sit down and watch this flick with the older kids in your family.
The movie is available for purchase now on Blu-Ray, DVD and on digital download. It’s rated PG with an approximate run time of 87 minutes in length. Overall, we are both giving it 8 popcorn buckets out of 10 popcorn buckets on our entertainment rating scale.
