This is a common question posed by new residents or persons looking for a change in their service provider. Are you one of these people? Are you wondering how you will find a plumber near you offering the best services at a reasonable price? If yes, then you should follow the following tips:
1. Referrals and Recommendations
The good thing about having friends and acquaintances is that they will recommend the best service providers to you. Because of their prior experience and the knowledge gained after living in one place for some time, they will most certainly have contacts of service providers around you. These service providers offer reliable services and by talking to friends, family, or colleagues, you will save time otherwise spent hunting for these service providers.
2. Online Reviews and Testimonials
You may also opt to check out the internet. As the world’s biggest directory, providers of plumbing services will have their websites and their past clients post their experiences. You can start by searching for top plumbing companies (or plumbing services in your area), then check out the reviews and testimonials. These will guide you in choosing your preferred provider, or in other cases, give you a list of names, probably the top three which you can approach or interview to ascertain their suitability.
3. Narrow Down Their Specialty
The plumber near you could be offering services that don’t quite cover your needs. Some companies offer residential while others offer commercial plumbing services. There might be others who offer both residential and commercial, like these High Point plumbing services (if you reside there), for instance. So, which company will you choose? Irrespective of the answer, you should ensure that regardless of the niche covered, your problems will be fixed adequately and professionally.
4. Plumbing Associations
There are local associations or authorities that govern the plumbing services in your area. You can call these offices, or obtain an online directory if one exists. Either way, you will find a list of the plumbers near you as well as plumbing contractors and their companies.
Contact information is always listed too and you can start from there, interviewing the plumbers to ascertain who your service provider will be.
5. Plumbing Services
The plumber closest to you may not offer a comprehensive set of important plumbing services. If this is so, then you should consider expanding your search area. A reasonable and the most preferable plumbing service provider offers services, such as water leaking services, disposal services, backflow services, emergency plumbing, sewer lines, faucet services, drain services, outdoor, basement plumbing, kitchen, bathroom and laundry plumbing. Water restoration, sump pump, and water heater services.
6. Emergency Services
This is an important consideration when looking for a plumber nearby. Plumbing problems come up all the time and it is important to have a reliable plumber near your home. As you look around the internet or when asking for referrals, ensure that you get confirmation from the service provider about their emergency services and the costs of these services.
In conclusion, to find a plumber nearby, you will have to know what you will be looking for. Ensure that the services offered are what you seek and the cost of services reasonable. You should also ensure that the company or the plumber is licensed.

We have been lucky in using a service called consumer checkbook that rates local firms and gives feedback on quality of service and cost. Have gotten a very good and reasonable plumber as well as other services. I always double check though to make sure the person is licensed and has no complaints with Better Business Bureau.
These are some really great tips and ones that I will keep in mind the next time we need to hire a plumber. I didn’t know that there were Plumbing Associations thanks for that information. I love to go by word of mouth and I also read online reviews.
I am lucky in that hubby has been a carpenter many years and through association, he knows some plumbers. It really is tough to find a good one, nd one that works to code sometime for people who might not know anyone personally.
There is also usually a list of service people at some of the local home improvement stores that they recommend, at least there is here. Not all of the ‘best’ are on the internet, some dont have time, or they are semi retired. The license is a must though as is bonding!
I am one lucky girl – My son is a plumber and my daughter is an RN – they have me covered!
