Over the past few years I’ve shared many beach photographs with all of you from the great state of New Jersey. Well today, I’m going to share with you two photos featuring Ocean City in Maryland. Yes, Maryland!
We had the opportunity spend a few days in O. C. Maryland a couple of months ago and went purely to just sit & relax on the beach. Usually we run around doing all kinds of tourist things, but during these couple of days, we wanted to be pure lazy and just relax on the beach!
The beaches here are a lot like the ones you find in South Jersey, but in my opinion their much wider. I don’t like wide beaches as it takes me longer to walk to the water’s edge. After I’ve walked from a hotel, across the street, down the beach…well, then I start tiring out before I even get my daily beach & water walk in!
In Ocean City, you do need to buy beach tags to enjoy their beaches. Okay, another drawback for me since I’m used to totally free ones, but that’s okay..we paid up and sat our butts on the beach for 4 days! LOL
I really don’t have any exciting photographs from this trip. We only went up onto their boardwalk one evening and walked around & shopped for 2 hours and we were done. We did eat our lunches & dinners out at nearby restaurants & cafes, but again, nothing too exciting. This was purely for rest & relaxation and let me tell you, it felt good!
Anyway, I thought it would be fun to show you two photos featuring the beach in Ocean City Maryland, since I’m a Jersey Shore girl and always sharing photos from my trips there. Do you have any favorite beaches that you like to visit?

That is so beautiful–it’s been years since I’ve been to a sandy ocean beach. The shoreline in this part of Maine is beautiful, too, but in an entirely different way. My favorite sandy beaches are on Sanibel Island in Florida, where there are lots of shells and shorebirds and gorgeous sunsets. Thanks for sharing your photos and reminding me of the beauty of the beach.
Oahu,Hawaii is the only place I have ever been that I actually liked the Beach. The waters were so clear and blue you can see the bottom and the gentle breezes were just Heavenly. I myself have never been a beach person . I sunburn easy and can’t stand the heat. Like in Florida where my Husband and Daughter love the beaches on the Gulf side. I have to admit its better there breeze wise then in central Florida like Orlando..SO Hot And Humid. I Imagine in New Jersey and Marilyn their is a more Breeze than in Florida. Thank you for showing your Beautiful Pictures..
I didnt know the sand up there was so light. For some reason, I always imagined it less white. I have never been there, it looks really pretty. We have been to other East Coast beaches, but never that far north. I will have to make Maryland part of a road trip someday, it is quite nice!
I love that the beaches in Ocean City , Maryland are so white and clean. I don’t mind wide beaches because then there is a lot of room when other people are there. I almost never get to a beach that is as empty as these in your photos.
Well, the beach looks beautiful, but I’m a little surprised that you have to pay to go to the beach. I had never heard of that before, but maybe it goes to upkeep of the beaches? As long as it’s not too much, I’d be OK with that.
Those beaches look beautiful! What a relaxing way to getaway and enjoy some peace and quiet!
The beaches here in LA are a bit too crowded for my taste, but I would like to find a place to walk barefoot in the sand or earth. I listened to some presentations at a Detox Summit all last week and they said it was healthy and beneficial to regularly do “grounding” or to feel the earth with your feet–something I don’t really do since I live in the city. I did take a nice walk today instead–with walking shoes on though!
I wish I had a beach like that to go to but I’m 1,000 miles from the West Coast beaches and 2,000 miles from the East Coast beaches. I do have streams and waterfalls and mountains which I love.
I love the beach, but i have not gone in a little while. i have never been to the east coast, most of my American beach experiences have been on gulf coast beaches. my favorite is Matagorda where you can buy a beach permit and drive on the beach, camp overnight, and have bonfires; all of which we have done a few times. if you have good 4wheel drive you can go way out and be all by yourself on the beach.
I’ve been there! It’s so pretty and you are right the sand is almost like in the Caribbean though just miles away it turns dar again. I wonder why that is.
