Our kitchen is a busy place. My husband is always whipping up something good and when we have dinner guests, it seems to be where everyone gathers. We enjoy trying new recipes and we recently received a new cookbook that features recipes from the viewers of the ABC hit show, The Chew. The recipes come from a popular segment on show called “The Chew Tank.”
If you aren’t familiar with The Chew, it’s a fantastic daytime show hosted by Mario Batali, Carla Hall, Clinton Kelly, Daphne Oz, and Michael Symon. In Chew Tank, viewers submit their own recipes and compete for a chance to cook with one of the hosts—I’d be so starstuck I probably wouldn’t even be able to boil water!
The Chew Approved is the fifth companion cookbook to the hit daytime show and it provides you with pages full of tips and tricks that make cooking for your family and friends more fun and manageable than ever. The recipes are enjoyable, easy and have simple ingredients that you can find just about anywhere.
In this collection of recipes, you’ll find sections featuring breakfast, appetizers, weeknight dishes, weekend feasts and sensational sweets. Each chapter contains recipes with full-color photos that will make your mouth-water and it will be tough to decide which recipes to try first! We have plans this weekend for brunch and we’re thinking of making the Feta, Spinach and Sweet Potato Frittata. Other recipes you’ll find it this cookbook are:
• Crab Cakes and Veggie Slaw
• Quinoa Black Bean Sliders
• Artichoke Chicken
• Pork Chops with Apple Mash and Roasted Brussels Sprouts
• BBQ Fried Chicken
• Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookies
The recipes are a wonderful collection from The Chew viewers of all ages and backgrounds from the novice cook to the more seasoned kitchen veteran. This book would make a great gift for a newly married couple or as a gift for a college student who is venturing out on their own. It also contains a variety of dishes including some vegetarian dishes. The Chew Approved will be available at the end of the month at Amazon, Barnes and Noble as well as other locations throughout the country.

I’m with you–no way would I be able to cook in front of The Chew hosts! But it’s great that other, braver people have submitted their recipes and got into this cool cookbook. Looks like a good one–I’ll keep an eye out for it when it comes out. Thanks for your review.
I have occasionally seen the Chew, & I’ve seen their recipes in various magazines. I think this would be a great bunch of recipes!
I’ve never seen the show (no TV), but I love cookbooks. I want to try the Feta, Spinach and Sweet Potato Frittata.
I have occasionally watched The Chew and enjoyed the show. This cookbook seems to have a nice collection of all types of recipes. First I would love to try the Quinoa black bean sliders.
The episodes I’ve watched of The Chew I’ve really enjoyed and wish I had more time to view them. The interaction between the chefs are really entertaining. They really do make it look so easy. The next best thing to watching is to get the cookbook though.
