Pirate Island Miniature Golf in Avalon

October 5, 2016 by Shelly

Pirate Island Mini Golf in AvalonMini Golf. It’s something that both my husband and I are passionate about.  We play it several times a year locally and every time we travel we look for new places to play. It’s a great way for us to spend time together and frankly, it’s pretty affordable at the majority of places that we visit.

A couple of months ago we took a 5 day vacation down to Avalon in New Jersey and wow…we had a fabulous time! Avalon sits south of Ocean City but north of Stone Harbor. It’s a beautiful “upscale” coastal town that sits on a barrier island, facing the Atlantic Ocean.

On the island is a place called Pirate Island Adventure Mini Golf which is one of the best miniature golf courses in the entire state of New Jersey, definitely the best one in south Jersey. If you’re heading to Ocean City, N. J. you can look for their “sister” golf course called Kongo Falls, that is a great course too!

You’ll find it located on 27th Street and Dune Drive with plenty of parking nearby. They do have a small parking lot, so if you go during a busy time, you’ll have to park on the street with paid-meter parking.

On the day that we played at this 18-hole mini golf course we had beautiful weather! It was in the low 80’s with low humidity. Absolutely gorgeous! Plus, there were only 2 other couples playing, so we were able to get through all 18 holes pretty quickly.

One of the things we loved about this place is the wide variety of holes that they have to offer. Some of them take you into a cave & tunnel area where a pirate sits with his treasure & talks to you. In another section you’ll go up some steps and across a plank-style bridge to play a few holes up there. You get great views of the area while you’re up there.

The course has some great water features and has 2 man-made waterfalls, one large and one smaller one. You’ll find water running in several different areas which makes it beautiful & relaxing to play. Towards the end of the course you’ll walk through a wooden pirate ship and play your 18th hole through that. Super cool.

If you’re heading to the south Jersey Shore (Ocean City, Stone Harbor, Wildwood, Sea Isle City, Cape May, etc.) you all need to stop in to Pirate Island Adventure Mini Golf in Avalon, New Jersey. It’s one of the best miniature golf courses that we’ve ever played!

I wish I was near this miniature golf course. I always enjoy playing and look for places when we are on vacation. We have a good course near us that is adjacent to the local golf course. It is fairly challenging.

This looks like great fun and a way to get some fresh air and vitamin D for the day. I haven’t played miniature golf in so long, I can’t even remember since when!

As a kid, I remember playing ‘putt-putt golf’ (as we called it) all the time with my family. We always enjoyed it.

This miniature golf place also has some elements of an adventure park with its pirate features. It does seem to be a beautiful place to [lay.
