Who Get’s The Dog is a hilarious romantic comedy that was released for purchase on DVD back on September 27th, 2016. You can find it at retail stores across the nation, available for purchase & download online and it’s available on HD.
Movie Synopsis: Olive (played by Alicia Silverstone) is a top doctor with high hopes of starting a family, but her out-of-work husband, Clay (played by Ryan Kwanten), is too busy concentrating on his dream to be a big league hockey star. On the brink of divorce, the couple can’t agree on who will take custody of their beloved dog, Wesley. Things go from bad to worse as they battle it out in court. Resorting to cheap tactics and dirty tricks, Olive and Clay pull out all of the stops to win back Wesley, with hilariously disastrous consequences.
My Thoughts: I typically don’t watch romantic or comedies when it comes to movies & television shows. However, comedies are my husband’s favorite genre to watch. We alternate our date-night movie nights, so for his movie night with me…he selected the newly released DVD “Who Get’s the Dog”.
I really enjoy Alicia Silverstone’s acting and this was the first time that I’ve seen actor Ryan Kwanten. Both of them did a great job acting in this film and you could tell that they had chemistry together. The story line was entertaining and well-written, but in certain parts of the movie it was predictable.
You can really relate to these characters and at times you’ll find yourself rooting for & cheering one or the other on. The dog “Wesley” is absolutely adorable and in my opinion, he’s the star of the entire movie! You seriously just want to “love on” Wesley all day long!
Overall, I found it to be a good movie. Not the best that I’ve seen, nor the worst. On my entertainment scale, I would give this one 6 1/2 popcorn buckets out of 10 popcorn buckets on my rating scale. Hubby said he would give it 7.

I think that my daughter & I would enjoy this movie. Unfortunately my husband likes to watch spy movies, adventurous & history related movies – no fun!
OH how cute, just my kind of movie. I am a bit over-involved with my dogs you might say. Also, I love Alicia Silverstone, ever since ‘Clueless’ days!
This sounds like one that I would enjoy watching on a day like today when it is pouring rain outside. I will have to add this one to my list of movies that I want to watch thanks for sharing and have a nice rest of the weekend.
This romantic comedy sounds perfect for a relaxing evening where you want to watch something that will allow you to unwind. I agree that the dog is really the star of the movie. He is so cute!
